I can see putting the weapon under the town square to make a point, but doesn't the theory of MAD require you to tell people you have a death ray?

Yeah, totally. Did we even hear that she was a scientist or involved in that sort of work at all? I don't think we did, did we? All we knew was that she was a crotchety old lady pining for her lost love.

I did like that the speech Thatcher gave included what we thought was just nonsensical babble. I don't like dementia issues being played for a joke.

Also, how irresponsible is this town with their technology, eh? Lots of "I have no clue about it but it has shiny buttons" going on.

Oh, and Eugenia/Jack kiss! Hee.

It would have been entertaining if they'd just wandered about the Home for Old Geniuses asking, "Do you remember the deathray? Do you know how to turn it off?"

The town has been there a lot longer than the weapon, right? Why would anyone, especially a bunch of folks who are really, really smart, put it right under Main Street?

Maybe that part of town wasn't there when they built it. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Even with all the hand-wavey bits, I still liked the ep. The woman who played Eugenia was wonderful; I hope she shows up occasionally in future eps, since she and the daughter had great chemistry together. And are we going to see bits of Thatcher's thoughts buzzing through Jack's for a while longer?

Oh, and i loved the kiss between Eugenia and Jack. Especially when Eugenia said "hush, Zoe" or whatever she said. It was a very sweet moment, there was a terrific expression on Colin's face right before Jack realized that he wasn't Thatcher

It was certainly implied we would. I liked the "Did I say we again?"

But then, we've been getting mostly standalone, so I dunno that we'll see too much bleedover. Maybe an allusion or so.

I liked the way the kiss was filmed, too. Was it Colin in the flash-backy bit before we see that it's Jack in reality? It seemed like it might have been him in that particular young Thatcher blurry shot. If so, I like the representation of the twisted lines between Jack's identity and Thatcher's memories.

My biggest problem with the ep was not enough Jo (again), though the scenes she was in were fun.
