See I recall a Treo/Blackberry sort of a setup, not the slidey thing that Sidekicks do.
If I were a better VM fan I could remember an episode in which it was used and then look up the screencaps.
Wait..like the season finale!
'War Stories'
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Sidekick, huh? I'm laughing at myself because I can't remember having seen anyone use it as a phone in real life. They all have smaller phones and use Sidekicks for messaging and web stuff.
Huh. I've never seen one used as a phone either. Go fig.
Me: wrong.
Didn't they have a sidekick in the first season and then switch to a treo? Or am I on crack?
Oh, I'm not saying it's not a Sidekick. Just that I officially don't know what it one'd look like on the ear, because that's alien usage to me. And I'm way too lazy to scroll through more pics.
Definitely a Sidekick in that screencap. Though I also can't remember ever having seen one used as a phone before (without a headset).
On the OC, they made a HUGE deal over how it was a T-MOBILE SIDEKICK, THE BEST MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS DEVICE EVAR, so there was no mistaking it.
It was like only a Sidekick would enable them to fulfil the plot-demanded actions, and somehow a Treo just wouldn't have cut it. Lamer than the F150, because it kept coming up over and over. There was even packaging, if I recall correctly.
Well, you know, when even someone as old and uncool as Sandy Cohen recognizes the complete and utter awesomeness of the T-MOBILE SIDEKICK, you gotta give it props. And it's so easy to use, right out of the box!
Veronica uses the Sidekick II.
I don't mind product placement if they work out how to do it unstupidly.
Right, you watch Donna Reed or whomever on TVLand, and occasionally she'll stop and mention how much she really likes feeding Campbell's Soup to her family - that was kind of blatant, because I'm remembering her addressing the audience directly. BUT at the same time, any show with school aged kids in it, it would be fairly natural to drop a mention of saving the old Campbell's labels for their school, because I'm sure that 90% of families with school aged kids in the U.S. talk about that. And there are all kinds of things I've seen characters on favorite shows using that I wanted just because I saw someone very cool using it.
Wrestling? Definitely fiction. Plus, didn't they have assorted MacLeods show up just to coincide with the release of a Highlander movie? Arranging a few themed appearances would really make the Wrestling a good fit.
