Well, he's just charming, isn't he? Yes, he is. Also, his accent is making me curious about where he's spent his time (beyond what he mentions there), because half the time I'd say he's from California or something, but then there's a slight hint of something else. Or maybe I'm projecting his on-screen accent onto his normal speech. Anyway, charming. And so handsome. Goodness.

Hee. I was just coming back to post that I listened to the interview without looking at him, and he definitely sounds like he's from the States but has spent time overseas. So, yeah, I was projecting a lot, but there are little bits of accent he's obviously picked up from living abroad.

he is very pretty. i actually prefer him with his real accent. huh. usually it's the other way around.

I think the electricity thing would have been awesome to keep. Yummy lighting by candlelight, Harry walking down a hallway and lightbulbs poofing out dramatically. Maybe more of that will come into play later on-- I don't think they've painted themselves into a corner on that matter. . . yet

Well, they've been keeping Harry lower-than-normal tech (WWII-era Jeep, record player, non cell-phone, etc) but he definitely plays better with technology than his book counterpart. I still think Murphy's computer should have fried when they were arguing in her cubicle last episode, though. Close proximity and high emotions should have totally nuked it.

The soul-gazing seems to be a big thing to lose, however.

According to Robert Wolfe, it's something we'll see next season. But in the TV!verse, soul gazes require a conscious effort on the part of the wizard, and Harry only engages in them as a last resort. (shrugs) I can defintely see where having your lead need to constantly avoid eye-contact would be problematic in a TV show, though.

And I thought the character torture in the show was fun!

Yeah, book Harry gets put through the wringer physically and emotionally pretty much every book. Grave Peril, in particular, has a pretty nasty blow for Harry. But one of the things about the TV show that Jim Butcher is really happy about is how often Harry gets the crap kicked out of him, much like his literary counterpart.

Of course, unlike TV!Harry, Book!Harry has tendency to do some damage himself before he goes down. (Though granted, a lot of that damage is of the property kind. My favorite opening line for a book ever is still from Blood Rites. "The building was on fire and it wasn't my fault.")

No official word as of yet. They're wrapping up the first season now and tossing around ideas for season 2, should they get the opportunity. There's a lot of things, with a 12 episode 1st season, they didn't get to do that they wanted to.
