that simple math was hard for our poor show creators.
Wait, I missed the math fiasco.
Besides, homocidal racist TRUCK.
People keep saying that, but in the end, it wasn't really a racist truck, right? That wasn't its actual motivation, I mean.
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

GHOST truck, even!
Man, good times, good times.
I'm a little surprised at the number of people (in LJ) who seem to feel that prayer could go unnoticed, but I suspect that's because when I pray (which is less often than once I did), I'm the talk-in-the-head sort.
I've been stuck on long airplane and car rides with my (atheist) family, and prayer (which would have been remarked on with horror) went right under that radar.

If you assume Cassie's around Dean's age (so, born circa 1979), her parents getting married in 1962 or there abouts seems like kind of a stretch.
I've mentally fanwanked this into something along the lines of They Were Very Young When They Married And Had Many Sad Fertility Related Issues Before Their One Child Was Born.
Still, nothing beats "Bugs" and the ten-minute night.
I did handwaving about making enough money to support a family, but largely was all ".... forty years ago? Really? But...oh, well. Whatever. Could happen."
Also - mighty wrod to the lip wibble with the Dad-calling. Oh lord, Dean. Dean.
Bless Smonster and Amyth for pimping SPN to me at the F2F. Bless. Them. Because, yes, turns out that Dean is one of those characters I love. Not just because he's pretty (although, Holy Crap, such astonishing levels of smokin' hot...gah...) but because he'll - at the risk of sounding like a Meatloaf song - do anything for love. Kill, die, compromise every damn thing he cherishes in order to protect the person/people he loves. ...Sail, you didn't like the Vancouver stories? But...but...but the funny! And the gay!
is sad.
I may like the Vancouver stuff more than the Toronto stuff, actually - although I thoroughly enjoyed all the Victory Nelson books - because the vampire show cracks me up, and I find Tony a little easier to identify with than Vicky. Oh, lord - I should SO love to see them make the 'Smoke' books into a show, with Alexis Denisof playing the hot sidekick actor (who has actual acting abilities, and upon whom Tony has the mighty crush o'doom) and James Marsters playing the egocentric aging vampire detective star. Not sure who I'd cast as Tony, but...God, how much would I love that show? Very. Much. Indeed.

Just ftr, I was born in 1979, and my 'rents were married in 1968. Mom was 30 when she had me, the second child. So, it's not common, but I don't think it's completely unpossible.
Jane Espenson signed to Eureka.
Averting my eyes ot the SPN talk to say Wheee!
Does anyone know if S1 of Eureka is coming out on DVD?
Aside from the part where Sam does not look like Scully at all, the big thing that bugged me about last night's episode is that nobody went into a research-gasm and found the phrase "Jerusalem Syndrome."
(Because I am completely sure that is what the X-Files would have done.)
...Sail, you didn't like the Vancouver stories? But...but...but the funny! And the gay!
I may go back at some time and look them over again, it's possible I gave up too quick on them. I felt the first book just bogged down too much in the middle and when that happens I end up putting the book down and never picking it up again.

See, I'm just the reverse, so, yeah, I like the Blood series better. I do like your casting choices for the Smoke books, though. I'd watch that, too.
Jerusalem syndrome?
I have to admit that for Route 666 I was more astonished at how badly whatsherface acts (she now curses the 4400 with her presence) to notice bad mathiness.
