Hey, if it means I don't have to read any more, woo and, might I add, a big hoo.

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Also, Famke Janssen and Janeane Garofalo have cop and lawyer show pilots.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

The name "Sam" belongs on the shelf next to "Jack" and "Carter" for a while, I must say--there are far too many of them in television these days.

Tell me about it. We have:

Sam Tyler
Sam(antha) Carter
Sam Winchester
Samantha Spade (WaT)

Hmm. I thought I knew more fannish Sams than that.

Of course, then there are Daniel/Dan/Dannys. Stargate SG-1 has the trifecta.

I've heard rumblings about Series 2 of LoM -- it's supposed to end in a cliffhanger, followed by a special hour or two that provide resolution. Can't wait!

I've been waiting for the S1 DVDs to be released in region 1 for a while, but I haven't heard anything about it. According to people who'd watched the region 2 DVDs, they had to substitute some of the songs because of royalty issues, which is a crashing shame. Among the apparent casualties is Rolling Stones' "Wild Horses" in that scene where Sam and Gene find that girl's body by the river and the conversation afterward, which... wow, even the *thought* of watching that scene with another song in the background pains me.

I hate it when they have to swtich songs on DVD releases. One would think that when the producers negotiate to use a song on an episode, they'd negotiate for its use on the DVD set as well before settling on a fee. For example, think about that last scene of the latest ep of Supernatural with a different song. That little change would make that episode, like, only half as awesome.

Recently, I watched some of the S1 Joan of Arcadia episodes on DVD, and in one of my favourite bits of the entire season (the ending scene of "No Bad Guy" when Adam comes to visit Joan and they have that talk in the Girardi kitchen and he plays with the bandage on her foot and she looks at him, I mean, looks at him, with that incredible expression on her face and.... !!), they substituted some non-descript song in place of Beck's "It's All In Your Mind" and, honestly, I was so upset, I almost cried.

Anyway. Wow, did I ever go off in a tangent. So, LoM S2! Awesome.

Ann, that's a ferret.

The Bionic Woman: Re-imagination of the 1970s series with focus on women's place in the world today

This could be an interesting and thought-provoking series. Unfortunately, given the nature of network TV, it probably won't be.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Pushing Daisies: Detective show/romance/fairy tale about a guy who can touch the dead and bring them back to life.

This is Bryan Fuller's new show.

Journeyman: Epic fantasy about a man who travels back in time to alter and fix the lives of people in trouble, but by recalibrating the past, he sometimes alters the future

Huh. Wonder if this is based at all on the computer game series The Journeyman Project.

Reaper: Comedic drama about a 21-year-old slacker who becomes the devil's bounty hunter, retrieving souls escaped from hell

Isn't this basically Brimstone ?

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Twilight (presentation) Private investigator/vampire struggles with the repercussions of immortality, vampire adversaries and his love for a mortal

We already had that show. It was called Angel.

I thought that actor who plays Zach in Heroes was going to be John Connor in Sarah Connor Chronicles? I'm vastly amused by the notion of dainty English rose Lena Headey taking on the role of Sarah Connor.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

There is also a series being made from Tanya Huff's "Blood" books. The pilot airs on March 11 on Lifetime(Yeah, I know) Weird thing is that it's a Canadian production, but it's airing first in the States.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Twilight (presentation) Private investigator/vampire struggles with the repercussions of immortality, vampire adversaries and his love for a mortal
We already had that show. It was called Angel.
Also called Forever Knight before that.

But I'm game to watch if they make it interesting.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Reaper: Comedic drama about a 21-year-old slacker who becomes the devil's bounty hunter, retrieving souls escaped from hell

Please tell me they'll be using Blue Oyster Cult for the theme song. Please.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Isn't this basically Brimstone?

Peter Horton played a world-weary cop beaten down to near-apathy by his traumas rather than a slacker. Who became the Devil's bounty hunter, retrieving souls escaped from hell. Whole 'nother vibe, since he used to do stuff.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Right, but the same basic conceit.

Reaper is basically Brimstone meets Dead Like Me.
