Wild monkey love or tender Sarah McLachlan love?

Boxed Set, Vol. III: "That Can't Be Good..."

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

I seem to remember Ted(radioactive guy) telling Matt about meeting a Haitian student just before the blackout that brought out his powers. I'm assuming he actually talked to the guy.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

But - WTF is with everybody describing him, just from a wee glance, as 'the Haitian-looking guy'?

As said before, no one actually said looking at any point. Ted evidently talked to him and Eden (who worked with him) referred to him as Haitian. No one's come to that from appearance.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Didn't I read above that Ando is not Japanese either.

He's Korean.

Art Crawl!!!

But he has some Japanese connections -- like he was born in Japan or something so it's not a complete stretch. (George Takei said that he was doing his Japanese lines completely phonetically but I had thought that he knew some Japanese.)

Yeah, he took a semester of Japanese in college, and lived in Japan briefly when he wss very young (his dad had been transferred there for work.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

But nobody saying 'black dude'?

And he was described as black dude, at least here, before the Haiti reveal.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

And he was described as black dude, at least here, before the Haiti reveal.

I recall we had all kinds of acromyms going on for the guy, like MBBD (Mysterious Bald Black Dude) or... I don't know, Silent Black Man or something, and it was frankly a bit of a relief that the show canon explicitly dubbed him "The Haitian" (there was some discussion about this at the time where we were all, "but how do they know he's a Haitian? He doesn't even talk!" then he opened his mouth and lo! He did have an Haitian accent) so that we could at least refer to him without tripping all over our capital letters.

And then they added Leonard Roberts to add to the immediate confusion, at least among the less Buffy-centric. Maybe they can get JAR on the show so they can have a trifecta (also, it would be damn good to see JAR in something like this again)?

Man, it was tough going there for a while. I mean, they were both tall, built, bald, black, with chiselled features, and both mysteriously, silently lurking about the corners. Thankfully, D.L. started speaking and then with the Forrest connection, I was able to tell them apart.

Our wings are not tired.

This would work. Really, I would not have a problem with this choice.
