It could be the eventual resolution of the Niki/Jessica initial storyline for Nicki and jessica to fight over the final control. Instead of losing, I would like to see some sort of merging of the two characters.
It could turn out that she's not really MPD, but actually sharing her body with her dead twin.

FWiW, I also saw it as Jessica accessing her body's strength on her own.
It could be that a psych evaluation could be just the thing she really needs. Of course, with Linderman taking an interest, she might just end up in Arkham Asylum....
(Heh. How I'd love for Linderman to be played by Michael Rosenbaum.)
