Art Crawl!!!

Meanwhile, new classic films from Scifi channel are also in development:

SCI FI Saturday Slate Unveiled

SCI FI Channel has added two movies to its 2007 production slate, including one starring Highlander's Adrian Paul, and given the green light to another three for development as part of the new Saturday-night programming block called "SCI FI Saturday: The Most Dangerous Night of Television."

The following films are scheduled to premiere in 2007: The Lost Colony, starring Paul, about the age-old mystery surrounding the lost colony of Roanoke, and King Arthur & The Order of the Dragon, written by Tim Cox and Brook Durham (Mammoth) and chronicling the quest for the Holy Grail.

The following films have been green-lighted for development: Riddle of the Sphinx, about an astronomer and a cryptographer who unwittingly unleash a deadly Sphinx; Sherlock Holmes & the Banshee, which follows the famous detective as he investigates a wailing, soul-sucking ghost that turns out to be a banshee; and Odysseus & the Isle of Mists, a mythical melee in which Odysseus and his men battle Persephone and her deadly vampire beasts.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I was browsing LJ, and found Ackles picspam that I had to share. Someone decided to do a worst-of post: [link]

The captions are really what make it. I just got busted slacking by Paul ("Is checking your work email a euphamism?") because I was laughing so hard.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Oh my. I may never stop laughing.

WTF?

The Odyssey does hint of Persephone in an adversarial role, as Odysseus sneaks into the House of Hades to gain the counsel of various ghosts and is fearful that she will send the head of the Gorgon to attack him before he can leave. Not sure how they got from Medusa's decapitated head to vampire beasts, though.

I think it was the posed pony pictures that broke the camel's back here.

And then I remembered the rash of crack-addled Winchesters-as-equines fic that was getting posted last week, and broke even further.

It has clearly been a loooong time since I read The Odyssey.

Well, if I remember correctly she didn't actually appear and menace Odysseus—he was just afraid that she might, since he was unlawfully intruding in her domain. The SciFi movie will probably have her in full-on Margaret Hamilton "I'll get you, my pretty, and your little pigs too!"mode.

Thrive to spite them

Those pics of Jensen were a great pick me up, I'm going to bookmark that for when I really need a smile.

Sci Fi Saturday sounds perfect for Watch and Snark.
