A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Fraser's mom is Ellen from Slings & Arrows. Boy was that disconcerting.
Hahaha. I haven't watched past S2 of dS yet, but Ellen from S&A was played by Paul Gross's wife, Martha Burns. I can't decide if that casting is slightly ooky or weirdly charming. I'm leaning toward the latter.
Yeah, that's new information to me. I just thought Canada was really small.
In other news, have ya'll seen this piece of awesomeness: [link]
Fans doing a live-action fourth season of Star Trek, with absolutely stunning graphics (seriously! I was gap-jawed at how good they were!), fully re-created, life-size sets, and just general awesome all around. Of course, the acting leaves something to be desired, but then again, you have to give the fanboys credit.
Of course, the acting leaves something to be desired,
so, true to the original series, then. Or at least Shatner.
What's with Lt. DeSalle? Is he the designated red shirt?
I believe, digging back in my memories of TOS, that DeSalle might have been a recurring character. Maybe the navigator before Chekov?
Hm. It was said that (in this fan episode) that Chekov was promoted to head of security, so perhaps DeSalle is the navigator now.
I kept going between really, really impressed, and filled with fannish glee that someone had done this.
Of course there's a Trek wiki.

Lieutenant DeSalle served as the assistant chief engineer as well as navigator aboard the USS Enterprise and was fifth in the chain of command during Captain Kirk's original five year mission. He was of French descent and trained in many skills, including biology.
Finally aquired my S1 BSG dvds. Man, I love this show.
One of the things that really bugged me,
in the recent ep
Heroes
was the whole - well, the whole scenario seemed kind of...not retconn or asspully, exactly, but it seemed to come from out of nowhere. But
then I'm rewatching the pilot miniseries this weekend
and Adama's speech before the whole Cylon attack, and - holy shit. Continuitygasm! Because that speech on first watch seemed kind of out there too, all accidental prophecy-girl. But when you put the two together it suddenly makes all kinds of sense.
Helo staying behind fucking broke me, again, dammit. And all the swirling Lee/Kara dynamics, jeez.
Where did you find them? Did you find them at a good price?
(I am contemplating replacing the season 1 dvds that I leant - LAST YEAR - so I have them.)
On line is going to be your best bet. Barnes and Noble has a decent price, and free shipping.
still no "fuck", but you'll hear "shit" all the time on Nip/Tuck, for example.
Or worse on RESCUE/ME. No fuck, but they've pulled a few other ones out I was rather surpised to see on a channel with commercials. Then again, SOUTH PARK has been pushing the envelope pretty hard too (I finally saw the Woodland Creatures XMAS episode and HMOG that was rude - spoiler fonted for the squeamish, and you have been warned -
ASSBABY ABORTIONS????!??!??!
).
