That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Wah! *sniff* I actually ahemmed this several weeks ago, and did my crying then, but that turned out to be a bad decision, because none of the friends I had been watching with were up-to-date with the ahemming, and thus I was all alone in my misery. On the other hand, though, I'm now sufficiently recovered to feel like I can watch the new Christmas special now without feeling emotional whiplash. I needed some time to grieve.

I just really loved Rose, and it's going to be hard for me to watch the new episodes and not wish she were still there. I mean, I totally understand why the character had to go, and I expect I'll like the new Companion a lot, but it's just not going to be the same show for me without Piper OR Eccleston. (All you longtime Who fans probably see it differently, since the revolving cast of Companions and Doctors is kind of integral to the show's whole concept, but... I'm not used to it! I want them to stick around and be together forever! Or at least for another season or two.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Are you guys talking about a 2006 Christmas special? Why can I not find it?

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

Okay, cool.

I hope it'll still be well seeded when I get back from vacation.

The evil is this way?

Doctor Who broke me. If Billie Piper ever wants to come back, I'm sure they'll figure out a way to make that happen.

it'll probably be better because everyone and their brother won't be trying to get it, ita.

i'm really going to miss her.

I am having total fangeek moments about rose being gone. Like if the BBC had a Bronze-style posting board I would totally post:

BRING ANGLE ROSE BACK OR WE WIL STOP WACHING!!!!

And then I would mock myself.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if she did show up at some point.

I think I mentioned at the time that I cried through about all of the last 20 minutes of the season finale. Though on the Podcast commentary RTD states that the Doctor is about to say "Rose Tyler, I... owe you ten pence" (bastard).

FTR, Torchwood tomorrow (Christmas Eve) is on half an hour earlier than normal, at 9:30; The Doctor Who Christmas special is on Christmas Day at 7pm, and the season finale of Torchwood is a double bill on New Year's Day starting at 9:30 - all British time.

BRING ANGLE ROSE BACK OR WE WIL STOP WACHING!!!!

heh. you might need to throw in a bodily harm threat to the writers to make it really convincing.

that's a whole lot of goodness and i can't wait.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Actually, ahemming works best when everyone and their brother are trying to get it.

I remember seeing an "alternate ending" of Doomsday on youtube or somesuch after it originally aired, but I can't find it now. Anyone remember what I'm talking about. Short spoilery description: Rose is on the beach waiting for the Doctor to appear when the TARDIS falls from the sky and flattens her. Fantastic!
