Mal: Yeah, well, just be careful. We cheated Badger out of good money to buy that frippery, and you're supposed to make me look respectable. Kaylee: Yes, sir, Captain Tightpants.

It was the same actress. Her voice is very recognizable.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

All the main BSGers as Simpsons characters.

I really enjoyed L&M and the Torchwood episode about Eugene (which I just watched last night, as our telly was broken until yesterday).

The last couple of eps of TW have been much better, though they're still making the mistake of telling us how great Gwen is instead of actually showing us. The last ep was a bit better at showing her using her intuition and working things out, but the setup made it look as though everything was down to Eugene guiding her anyway.

I do like the way they're showing us that Gwen and Owen are having difficulties, without us having seen much of the relationship at all. Oh, and Gwen held Jack's hand while Eugene was ascending, which I liked.

Art Crawl!!!

When I watched the repeat of BSG last night, I have to say that Helo looked like he was ready to explode.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I would think that we wouldn't have seen the last of the issue, by far. In the middle of a big crisis isn't the right time to tell someone they betrayed you and you'll never forgive them.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Oh lords, this whole Dee/Apollo/Starbuck/Anders thing is just disgusting. Although I'm surprised still at how much I've come to like Anders. Hit him, Sam, do it! Lee looks like he's seventeen standing next to Anders, hee!

Cally, shut up.

"They think we're bluffing." "We are." "Yeah, um, no."

And, what was up with that mood-killing promo? Pretty well orchestrated cliffhanger, and then that?

I coulda done without. Hopefully they showed that because it was the most inconsequential part of BSG's return in January.

If you go to the scifi website there is a video extra called "Soldier's Code" which is a more interesting preview for the next episode.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Oh, excellent!

I adored Anders this week. The expression on Lee's face when Anders said "Do you think you're the first?" was just priceless -- clearly, yes, he'd thought he was. Poor Lee, never being quite the beautiful and unique snowflake he thinks he is!

What strikes me about the whole Starbuck/Lee affair is how selfish it is. I can't help comparing it to Willow/Xander, and how their guilt was driven by the concern that they would hurt Oz and Cordy. Here, Starbuck doesn't appear to feel guilty at all, and Lee's attitude seems to be very specifically about Not Cheating On His Wife, rather than being about Not Hurting Dualla.

I'm not really sure how I feel about the whole Final Five Cylon plot thingy. I love Baltar/D'eanna, but I think I'd have been happier if I could have had it without the spiritual element, or at least without Baltar seeming to buy into it as much as he is.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

RE: Torchwood

The last ep was a bit better at showing her using her intuition and working things out, but the setup made it look as though everything was down to Eugene guiding her anyway.

I wonder if they might ever get around to drawing a connection between both Whoverse characters played by this actress. After all, isn't it a bit too much of a coincidence that Gwynneth has "the Sight" and this Gwen apparently subconsciously hears dead people? If it were some other 'verse, I would be more likely to speculate that Gwynneth reincarnated as Gwen. Here, I wonder if somehow the energies Gwynneth was channeling at her death somehow pulled her into the Rift and then spat her back out, scrambled enough to be able to reintegrate into modern society.
