DX ... did you know Erick Avari is "Daniel Jackson's" father-in-law on Stargate/Stargate SG-1? He's one of those actors I've come to look for in shows and movies. He followed up his Stargate appearance, with a neat bit-part in Independence Day. Didn't see him in Day After Tomorrow, though.

Is SciFi planning a new season of Stargate Atlantis? If so, when will it start?
A fourth season of Atlantis has already been announced. I'd have to guess season 4 would air summer 2007.
