If her healing powers were active, that shouldn't have been able to happen, you know? That's why the fact that her brain was impeded is important.
I don't think that the brain is particularly relevant in her powers. her healing powers weren't active because she couldn't heal around the wooden stake. When her brother hit her with the stapler, she didn't heal until she removed the staple. If she is incapable of removing the object, or putting the parts in the right place, she won't heal. Like when her arms and legs don't heal until she twists them back into place. If her brain was the key to her powers, then breaching it would have killed her permanently.
I guess it depends on how an autopsy works. Because what I'm saying is that when the lady makes the incision down her chest, it should heal, unless, like you said, she pulls the skin apart immediately.
Still not sure why they had to slit her first to do an autopsy. Shouldn't they check out the huge stick in her head first?
Autopsies generally check everything, right? Even if there is an "obvious" cause of death.

Ha, yeah. I can't believe they cut her open before removing the stick.
It does seem odd to start cutting into the torso with the stick still in there, though.
I love Claire. I didn't realise how much until yesterday. But she's all determined and getting the hang of life and brave and stuff. And such a very lovely smile.
Yeah, she's had a really nice character arc. Unlike Mohinder.
Mohinder needs a good slapping. I totally didn't buy his rejection of Peter, so I don't care as much about his (obviously impending) decision to get back in the game.
However he needs to factslap his skeptic friend by quoting his words back at him verbatim. Friend's words to Mohinder's dad, I mean.
Is Suresh a popular last name? I've known more than a few guys with it as a first name, but never seen it as last.

Yeah, I summarized his character arc for fun, and...it's ridiculous.

Yeah, my uncle is named Suresh. I've never seen it as a last name, though.
Mohinder bores me to tears. I can't tell what his role in the show is supposed to be -- the heroes don't seem to need him as a guide, so I'm not sure why I should care whether or not he believes they exist.
