Have we seen for sure that Sylar absorbs powers? I know he is a telekinetic with some other powers besides, but a power absorber? Are we sure?

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
She did the classic run and trip on the steps, and then Peter ran up behind her.
Was it his shadow cast? I only noticed the shadow cast by her dad.
Maybe the cheerleader they were supposed to save was actually Jackie....

maybe in the stuff that mohinder found in the apartment?
I thought that there were two amphitheatre paintings. One with Claire lying on the steps with the shadow over her, and one with the amphitheatre empty with the shadow from the door.
I'm thinking of the one with Claire running away from the viewer, up the stairs/seats/whatever, and a shadow cast across them. Then there was one of the dead cheerleader in the foreground, with the silhouette of a person, and the shadow coming toward the viewer. I don't recall the setting.
I don't remember seeing that shot either, now that I think of it.
Which one? We don’t know if the dead cheerleader painting was Jackie or Claire.
People have said the dead cheerleader painting is Jackie. But I meant the disputed shot on the stairs, which never appears to happen. Peter gets their first, and there's no shot of just Claire and the looming shadow.

We do not know for sure that Sylar absorbs powers. But the brain thing, combined with the fact that Claire wasn't able to regenerate when her brain was impeded, makes it pretty damn likely that Sylar's getting powers by eating brains. Or doing something with the brains at least: the point is, the powers are in the brains. In that 90% we don't use, remember?

::stabs P-C, self::
I would think that situation would be true for any injury of Claire's where the agent causing injury was still piercing her body. Just, what with the board being in her brain and all, normal life functions were also at a standstill til it was pulled out.
That's a good point, Matt. I do think the powers reside in the brains anyway because of Mohinder's urban-legend comment in the pilot: if this new evolution is unlocking hidden potential, it's doing it in that mythical 90%.
Also, raise your hand if you thought the promo sounded like about fifty different Lost promos. (All the answers will be revealed next week? Really? We'll see, Promo Guy. You're the one who was calling Mr. Bennet the FACE OF EVIL until you decided he wasn't, so now you're calling Sylar the FACE OF EVIL, which is a much safer bet. You also told us that the Heroes were going to have to band together to save the cheerleader when, in fact, Peter did it all by himself because, remember how Hiro delivered the message directly TO PETER? Yes, Promo Guy, let us watch the show and stop making shit up.)
combined with the fact that Claire wasn't able to regenerate when her brain was impeded,
I don't think that it was in her brain, wasn't it in her neck? and even if it was in her brain, she couldn't regenerate while it was in there, but the second it was removed, she regenerated. she doesn't heal around injuries, they heal when impediment is removed
