What is even happening?

In my head (and not counting either Mohinder [who is Sayid-Lite on account of his pretty, slender, lanky build], or Isaac = Stone (because he puts me in mind of the guy who played Stone on General Hospital, and because he's always stoned) a lot of the Heroes characters have names related to the jossverse character whom they most resemble.

Claire = Not!Buffy

Peter = Not!Xander

Simone = Not!Zoe

Claire's father = Not!Norman Pfister

DL = Forrest

Micah = Forrest's kid

Niki/Jessica = Ben/Glory

The cop = Not!Puffy Xander

Ando = Not!Gavin

Hiro just = Hiro, because he's adorable. The young woman working for Claire's father = Pixie, because she has cute hair. Nathan = Jim Profit, even though I've never seen Profit. Everyone else is that woman/that guy, the one who/with the/that...

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

See, Pixie for me is Not!Meg, but that's me mapping to a different fandom entirely.

Yeah, I was wondering what she was referring to. One of my friends suspected she was the one pushing Isaac on heroin in the first place, to cultivate his power.

Hmm, interesting. I wonder why they didn't unleash the Hatian on Isaac to give him a power ramp up sans drugs. It seems that whatever he did to Matt and radioactive man while he was cleaning them out also increased their powers a great deal. Maybe they don't know that the clean out process has a residual power up effect.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Well, Pixie for me is PoorDeadColin's Sister from Everwood. She had a name, but then she went off to boarding school and I can't remember. Lana? Oh, Laney, I think.

Well, the clean-out can power-increase could be separate. We don't really know what MBG does, exactly. And IF the clean-out leads to the power increase, and they know this, I wouldn't risk cleaning out the one guy who may have information in that head of his. Does he channel the future when he paints, or does he have future information in his head that he subconsciously taps into, you know? The way he paints random shit sometimes suggests the latter, which means wiping his brain would be BAD.

I totally missed the Haitian guy reference. This is what I get for watching with the daughter... she's got a habit of yakking while I'm trying to pay attention. Why did I think that DL was the guy who mindwiped the Quarterback and tried to kidnap Nathan?? I'm lame! There's tooo many characters with no names, I can't keep 'em all straight. Give these people names stat!

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

So I was speculating on how things might shake down once characters start intersecting and working together (as I assume they will) and the whole Niki/Jessica thing. While I would guess they will probably eventually integrate her personalities, I was thinking how much more interesting if she became like Jeckyll/Hyde in LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN where the powerful one is also one that can never be trusted, except possibly by Micah (as Mina seemed to be able to control Hyde somewhat).

That would be pretty sweet. Especially since I loved Hyde. And I also love Jessica.

This is something that bothered me last night. How do they know that Isaac's new painting is going to show them where Syler is? It hasn't seemed that his power works that way up until now. He can't really control it. How do they know he won't paint another picture of Simone and Peter kissing? Or of Ma Bennet feeding the dog, you know?

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

Perhaps the powers are just beginning to surface when they're snatched and studied, and then they increase after that regardless of the mindwipe. They didn't tell us how long Matt had the ability to read minds. Clearly he wasn't using it for personal gain up to that point. Maybe the little girl is one of the first times he heard a concrete thought, and that was because she was probably mentally screaming at the top of her lungs.
