Art Crawl!!!

Did you guys find that episode particularly ANGSTY? (One of the wha? comments on TWOP was one where the commenter posted that h/she was sick of the angstyness. And I was like -- but the FUHNEE?? SO. VERY. FUNNY.)

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Not in comparison to previous episodes, and, frankly, I was glad we got Sam angst instead of the same Dean angst we've been getting the last seven hundred episodes...or however long I've been watching.

And I was like -- but the FUHNEE?? SO. VERY. FUNNY.

Yeah, this episode was definitely funnier, so...TWoP is dumb sometimes.

Whereas I really enjoy the Dean angst. And by "really" I mean "to an insane degree I would find vaguely shameful if I didn't have so much entertaining company."

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

I love all of the angst. It's great angst. The boys give it well. But I didn't feel that Sam's angst was particularly grand in this episode. It could have been wayyyy worse.

Pshaw.

Dude, watch S1. Dean's angst is EARNED ANGST.

Also, hot like burning.

t stands in corner with Shrift.

I have a S2 Angstometer, which shows that the angst hasn't been a steady thing, but instead something that ebbs and flows (down Dean's cheek, in one perfect tear.) (Hush. I know I'm pathetically easy.)

  • 2x01 Angst to 11.
  • 2x02 Clowns kill will never be not funny. Angst dives to a 4 or 5, rises to 7 at the end.
  • 2x03 Angst holds at about a 7. More rage than angst.
  • 2x04 And... we are BACK to 11. Oh, DEAN.
  • 2x05 Angst goes out for a drink, tells you to talk to Funny for a bit.

See, I found it funny and creepy but not particularly angsty.

I'm hoping that someday Sam's powers won't give him the Cordy/Doyle-like headaches.

Hee. I am certainly leaning more toward an S1 mainline in the near future. Except I've been planning an Office mainline as well, and I don't know which to do first. I mean, at least I'm already watching SPN. I should probably catch up with that first before adding a new show.

So, re: Sam's powers and the demon and the fact that they showed us the scene where John tells Dean something VERY IMPORTANT about Sam in the previouslies...is the obvious assumption supposed to be that the Ceiling Demon is Sam's father?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

is the obvious assumption supposed to be that the Ceiling Demon is Sam's father?

I was about to post that OF COURSE DADDY WINCHESTER IS NOT THE CEILING DEMON.

Then I decided to try rereading, and you know what? Don't break my familial bonds, yo. While it wouldn't be as bad as having Sloane be Sydney's dad, I would still have to mourn.

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

last night's episode changed my moderate "like" for Supernatural into full blown LOVE. that REO Speedwagon scene totally had me dying.

I totally understand that, but I can't otherwise figure out why that scene was in the previouslies. Because it was never mentioned; all they talked about was the part where the demon said he had "plans" for Sam and children like him.
