You were very nearly devoured by a giant demon snake. The words 'let that be a lesson' are a tad redundant at this juncture.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I think Torchwood is more likely to be on BBCA than SciFi, but I can't remember why I think that.

Art Crawl!!!

I'm fine with that. I'm guessing that BBCA is kicking themselves for not grabbing Doctor Who when they could -- thus the airing of season 1 on BBCA in November.

(Plus, if BBCA airs it so much more likely that the original UK version will show up On Demand.)

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I will have a major problem with the character who

Dana, that was my biggest problem too. And it would have made a lot of sense, in the second ep, for someone to draw a parallel between the alien sex smog and the cologne and make the point that they are both essentially rape drugs; it seems that would have been the best way to address the issue right away. Because you're right, his behavior is gross and awful and Very Bad, and I don't want to believe that we're supposed to think it was OK.

Also agreed that the atmosphere was much more subdued than I was expecting. The pacing also seemed weird to me in places, a little clunky. But I'm happy to chalk that up to new-show syndrome and hope they find their stride soon.

well...there was actual cussing in this show. they'd have to do some cutting and some bleeping/creative voiceovering if it was to be on SciFi.

I will have a major problem with the character who....

I agree totally, Dana, but that was all part of showing the characters' flaws (a major flaw in this case, I know), and I'm fairly certain we're supposed to find Owen unsympathetic at this point. Also I think showing that stuff was to draw attention away from Suzie's extra-curricular activities, which were kinda worse. I do have some faith that it will be addressed in future, actually. We'll see .

Kate - hah! The bit with the ariel shots of Jack on the roof of the building made me laugh too - it just went on for bloody ever; plus, Angelerific (again); also later events explained how he dared to be up there in the first place .

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Is it just me, or is Xena-cylon hotter than Xena?

No, no, no. LL is totally hot no matter what, but the blonde, feathered 'do is not nearly as hot as the dark, one-length 'do. Xena all the way, baby!

What is even happening?

No, no, no. LL is totally hot no matter what, but the blonde, feathered 'do is not nearly as hot as the dark, one-length 'do. Xena all the way, baby!

I like the feathered 'do on her, because I think it's softer, but I do think darker hair was more becoming on her. Is Boomer the only female Cylon who isn't blonde?

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Are we wfronting Torchwood? Either way, wow. I quite enjoyed it, despite the problems I had with it. It set up some very interesting premises for the series. Also, could it be any more canonically gay? No one has to tell me twice that Russel Davies is a big honkin' fangirl at heart.

It certainly made me miss Wales, though, with all those accents.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

We're definitely whitefonting Torchwood. It hasn't aired in a US market.
