There is considerable overlap between the intelligence of the smartest bears and the dumbest tourists.

Given that he's burned through 10 incarnations in a thousand years, odds aren't that good that he'll make it 3,000 in three lives.

My main issue is that I thought it was bad writing, or editing really; they apparently deleted a line from Rose and Mickey referring to them being able to trigger a failsafe to get home. Without that, the Doctor being all weirdly perky and cheerful without apparent concern for Mickey and Rose came off bizarre.

And I'm not sure I'm really convinced by the Doctor being so enthusiastic about being trapped in time for a few thousand years. The reaction in Impossible Planet seemed a lot more likely and honest. With external references I can fanwank him already having a plan in mind to nick the TARDIS from himself a few years down the road (since he's been known to hang out in revolutionary France.) But it's one thing for knowledge of the series to deepen impact; if you are relying on bits outside the story to explain the basic plot, it's bad writing.

What is even happening?

We knew Apollo would come and were so glad he did.

Poor Starbuck's all broked.

I could not believe that Tigh killed Ellen! I kept thinking, "I must be misunderstanding, he wouldn't actually do that!" -- and then he did it! It didn't occur to me at the time that she might know she was drinking poison, but I wouldn't be surprised.

I think she knew. She asked for a drink almost out of thin air, and sort of nodded when she took it.

I don't understand why Xena-Cylon is so attached to baby Hera. That's Sharon and Helo's baby, right?

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

That's a pretty big reveal they teased with the mindreading. Wonder if they'll follow through.

It stands to reason in a way, though. I mean, the Time Lords had to have some basis for the telepathic translation that the TARDISes do for everyone in the owner's presence. And I'd always had the sense that the Doctor's capabilities in that regard were innate rather than dependent on the TARDIS.

Given that he's burned through 10 incarnations in a thousand years, odds aren't that good that he'll make it 3,000 in three lives.

All he would have to do is wait a couple centuries til the TARDIS was spending a lot of time unattended at UNIT headquarters and take it for a quick trip to the 51st century before sending it back to its proper time on autopilot. Not convenient, but certainly not beyond the Doctor's capabilities.

Yes, the Sharon that was on Caprica with Helo and came back to the Galactica. But I would imagine that Xena-Cylon is attached in much the same way as RayK-Cylon is, in that the baby was in her dreams, and therefore plays some part in Xena-Cylon's future, or experience. Just as RayK-Cylon saw Kara in his dreams and now is being a crazy stalker with means and no moral compulsions about imprisoning the object of his affections.

Okay. RayK is the one who was holding Starbuck, yes? Leobon? (Sorry, the RayK name is going right over my head.) I knew she'd knife him, by the way, and might have given a little squee when she twisted it. Dh thought she was going to stay with him because of Kacey.

Thanks, SA. This is why I need to watch the first two seasons--to understand this sort of character mythology.

I love that they have Richard Hatch in this, even though I never watched the original BSG on TV. I also love that he's Richard Hatch and not Richard Hatch, as I originally feared, when I read the name in some BSG context or another.

eta...

Yes, the Sharon that was on Caprica with Helo and came back to the Galactica.

This is the same one that Adama sent as an emissary to New Caprica, this season, right?

All is well that ends in pizza.

Plus, he's almost 1000, he's been to earth, doesn't seem to forget anything he's done after a regeneration finally stablizes, so he might have an even better option to do this sooner.

Plus? there's always looking up Reg at St. Cedd's. (See the aborted Shada ep and Dirk Gently...)

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Sorry, the RayK name is going right over my head.

RayK is one of the two Rays from Due South, played by the same actor as Leoben.

Yes, the same one. Wow was BSG kickass or what??? Best ep so far this season. I loved when Galactica came burning down out of the sky to drop the vipers and then jumped. I can't believe the Cylons got Hera. That should be interesting. Also can't wait to see what happens with Baltar over in the Cylon camp. Poor Kara - she had accepted that baby as her own. Great way resolve the baby storyline, though. I can't wait for the rest of the season!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Heh. Also, RayK gets called CKR for his initials, Callum Keith Rennie. He's done a lot more work than just Due South, so turning up on BSG is just gravy.

Thanks, DX.

That was incredible. I am not hugely into cinematography. If a scene isn't too dark for me to make out the action, and I can't see any strings attached to Godzilla's hands, I'm happy. But still, that scene with the Galactica was amazing to me.

With Starbuck all broken and Sharon "knowing" Adama would never lie to her, and Hera with the Cylons, I think things are ripe for a schism.

I wish I could suck in the show, the way Willow sucked all the magic out of the books.
