Boxed Set, Vol. III: "That Can't Be Good..."

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

But he sounded like he'd stopped believing in powers entirely.

Exactly.

>I did understand his doubts to an extent -- a kid shows up on his doorstep, claiming to have powers, but, uh, he can't really demonstrate it because maybe he has to be around other people in order to jump-start whatever his powers might be? I bet he'd have been more into it if Peter had shown up and levitated outside his door or something.

Also, after having just chased a Petrelli brother down for thinking he had powers, I would think it would be exciting as all get-out to have another Petrelli brother--one who isn't ignoring you and is actually claiming he *has* powers--show up at your door. It would have been the proverbial light at the end of the proverbial tunnel.

Not that I like saying proverbial or anything.

I think Freddy Quimby should walk out of here a free hotel

A review of Torchwood with mildish spoilers. I saw an ad for it last night and thought 'This is spun off from Doctor Who ?' But there's lesbian groping and jets of blood.

It's DW's 'edgier' cousin.

The ads make it look unattractively edgy. Like 'Look how edgy we are. We're composed entirely of edges. We have no sides.'

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

The sudden over-the-top scepticism felt a bit contrived to me.

he sounded less skeptical and more irritated, I think. I think that Mohinder really went out on a limb (for him) chasing down the elder Petrelli, and now he feels like an ass. He's been avoiding his father's work, he finally chooses to believe, and his first attempt to move forward is soundly rebuffed.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

That was my take too, Vortex. He went from being a respected professional to driving a cab, some freaky shit happened, and then he got treated like a crazy person, not only by Petrelli's goons but probably by the cops he brought back to Sylar's suddenly empty apartment, and now he's chasing after a drug addict on the word of a guy who SAYS he's a super. Less of a reversal of thought than just, "WTF am I doing? This is ridiculous, I'm a respected scientist! I'ma take my shit and go home, before I get arrested or worse!"

He'll get over it. As soon as he sees someone fly or something.

Art Crawl!!!

I really, really meant to post earlier.

Amusing Smallville. The Ollie-actor can't, can he? But his super-specialized arrows and extra green light is fun.

Okay, I got a call from my credit card company in the very important last five minutes of Supernatural -- I'll be rewatching that.

Huh. I was told that Summer Glau was in this episode. I don't think I saw her. But another good episode -- lots of good brotherly moments. Plus, different and exciting GREEK zombification. Who knew?

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Plus, different and exciting GREEK zombification. Who knew?

Not me, but I can see how easy it might be to turn fraternity brothers into zombies. They're most of the way there already, right?

Art Crawl!!!

Yeah, not THOSE Greeks. Although, there was a college campus involved.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

I was told that Summer Glau was in this episode. I don't think I saw her.

IMDB says she was Angela (zombie chick), but she was very much not. Huh. The CW site says it was her as well. Last minute casting change?
