He'd have to jump to an alternate timeline where the world wasn't destroyed, train for 5 years and then jump back to keep the world from being destroyed.
Unless he can jump back in time.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Unless he can jump back in time.
Unless he can jump back in time.
yes, he can. The first time he went to New York was five weeks in the future, and he came back to Japan.
Unless he can jump back in time.
yes, he can.
And, you know, this is Hiro from THE FUTURE, so it's pretty clear he can jump back in time. We don't really know the extent of his power, though. He could jump back to twelfth-century Japan, for all we know.
Unless he can jump back in time.
Right. I'm an idiot. I was thinking too linearly, I guess.
Two things occur to me.
If Hiro is not careful he could die of old age in five years linear time.
Hiro's great power/great responsibility thing really, really limits his choices. As in "I don't have to be in times square with feathers sticking out of each nostril at 10:A.M. tomorrow, but if I'm not this darling little girl and her cute puppy will die."
If Hiro is not careful he could die of old age in five years linear time.
you know, this is a paradox that has never been solved, what happens to time travelers/people who stop time.
Yeah, if he's going to get a scar that's that noticeable...fun for the makeup department!
I see something across the eye . . .
So he'll eventually evoke Xander from my tired little mind, even more?
I am having a hard time remembering so many of the characters' names, because they all evoke someone else for me. Peter is Almost!Xander. Mohinder is Sayid!Lite (I mean that as a comparison of their builds, not complexions). Claire is Not!Buffy. Hiro is Franklyn (the actor also appears on "Scrubs" as a character named Franklyn).
Really? I just read it, and I got pretty much the same vibe. But then, I like Claire. I love that she has such a keen grasp of her situation, and that she obviously has a lot of conflict between being fascinated by it and aware that it makes her "a freak or a lab rat."
She's obviously not a Buffy fan though, because she would have tried a Rocket Launcher. t /take that, "no weapon forged"
I wonder how canonical those "graphic novels" are. I guess we'll find out next week for sure, since Claire's story basically tells what happens after the car crash.
Reading Nathan's story made me realize that Nathan could turn out to be like Mayor Hundred from Ex Machina.
you know, this is a paradox that has never been solved, what happens to time travelers/people who stop time.
Well, the whole "stopping time" thing is just...hard to grok if you think too much about it because, what, Hiro can't just "stop time" LOCALLY. I mean, we see the other stories play out normally, but that's just for our benefit since time would have resumed with nothing changed for all the other characters.
Who's Nathan? Isaac is the artist junkie boy, right? Is Nathan the cop?
Who's Nathan?
Politician.
