This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
being with Isaac didn't give him any unusual flashes of insight, so there just wasn't much in the way of clues.
He drew the rooftop scene while in the hospital. I didn't really pick up on the significance of that at first.
He has all the time he needs.
This was my thought as well, Tom. What's to prevent Hiro from going to ANYWHEN in time, learning English, learning swordplay, etc., and then coming back right when he left? The problem with this idea is that, well, why doesn't Hiro start hopping around to five weeks in the future to figure out what the hell is going on? But I wouldn't be surprised if we have an episode where Hiro...becomes SuperHiro. It's not necessary for him to be years and years in the future. Especially if this first plotline is to stop the apocalypse in five weeks. It makes more sense for him to be from around that time, since he would know what to tell Peter to stop that.

you know how
Isaac's eyes filmed over when he was painting Claire?
If you saw the promo for next week,
you see that Peter's eyes have glazed over the same way.
He's like Rogue, but not so much with incapacitating people.
He has all the time he needs.
True, but I doubt he's going to find teachers willing spend years outside of linear time teaching him.

yeah, but the thing that takes time is the practice. If he seems to pick up everything perfectly the first time he tries it, he won't have any problem finding teachers.
I haven't been anywhere but here lately, so I missed the discussion. We've only seen him walk on air the once, and he hasn't been around anyone else other than Isaac, and being with Isaac didn't give him any unusual flashes of insight, so there just wasn't much in the way of clues.
Peter said last night that he'd flown with Nathan twice, and that he'd drawn the future once after meeting Isaac. I know we didn't see the first flight; we just heard about it from Nathan afterwards (I wondered at that point if Nathan might have been lying to make Peter feel better). We didn't see the other flying scene or the drawing of the future, did we? Cut scenes from the pilot, perhaps?

OK, I'd forgotten that part.
Claire's eyes were doing the cloudy thing when she was "dead".
I have a BSG question! From the TWoP recap:
the deposed president has been living off [Sharon & Helo's] baby's blood ever since like some fracked-up vampire"
??? Do we know that's happening? I know they used the hybrid baby blood to cure Laura's cancer but is she still..er..taking it??? I don't remember that at all.
I know they used the hybrid baby blood to cure Laura's cancer but is she still..er..taking it???
I think that's meant in the sense that she's living due to the hybrid baby--that she has a life at all because of the hybrid baby. Not that she's continually doing so.
We didn't see the other flying scene
That was the rooftop scene.

Ah. I missed that.

I suppose. But it's really easy to practice wrong, especially when you're first starting. So he would have to be very careful. I took a 12 week class, practiced on my own, and then when I took the same class a year later realized I'd been doing some things wrong and it's taking me forever to break those bad habits. Granted, Hiro doesn't have to take quite so long between lessons but it's not as simple as "Go to class for a week, practice for a month outside of time, go to class for a week, practice for a month outside time, etc."
On the other hand, since he's not likely to get in a sword fight, just learning how to cut properly without damaging the sword or lopping his foot off might be all he really needs.
