That's a good question, but he's definitely Eureka's coroner. IIRC, he swapped patches at one point. Multiple doctorates? On the other hand, a coroner is not required to be a physician (as compared to a medical examiner)

loved loved loved the pace and tone of this ep. All the focus on the relationships, really taking the time to let it sink in all that will be lost, and possibly never reached again.
