On another board, there was some speculation that the neighbor is eeeeeeeevil, and the bugging thing was a set up for her to "save" him, to gain his trust.
But she's cute, and has a big gun.
My wank for now is that because he teleported forward in time to the big explosion, then (I think) back to the current time, he meets the artist guy sometime during the intervening time and puts the comic book there for his future self, but then my head goes all 'splody because of time travel, etc. and I can't take it any further.
A brand new comic book written, drawn, and published in five weeks? Bwah ha ha ha ha... (Not so fondly remembers waiting for months and months for the final issue of Fray.)

HAD planned to ask if anyone knew anything about Heroes. From the imdb blurb it sounds like X Men or Mutant X, but pitched at the lycraphobic non-comic book crowd.
So far it's pretty much a cross between
Lost
and
X-Men.
I'm enjoying it so far (the second episode greatly improved on the first, IMO) but I don't know how much staying power it's got. Agreed that the premise is still murky, like, uh, who are these people and why do they have powers? But there were enough moments I liked that I'm happy to stick with it for a while and see what else is revealed.
When Bob asked me what happened I was like, "uh..." because nothing freaking happened!
Well, until the very last scene! I thought that was completely awesome. Everyone I was watching it with let out gasps. (Possibly we're a little melodramatic.) Also, I was glad to see Greg Grunberg's character (and Clea Duvall!), even if it did make me laugh that his Big Dramatic Moment consisted of moving a lamp and opening a closet door.

I don't really care so much about finding out why these people specifically have powers right at this moment. I mean, they've got an apocalypse to stop. I don't really see that the premise is murky at all. Do you really want all the questions answered in the second episode?

Do we know that for sure? Still... why are they mutating, and why does the artist dude need to shoot up in order to access his psychic powers, and what's the deal with Las Vegas Mama's mirror self, and why is Claire's dad tracking them all down, and for that matter, why was Mohinder Sr. tracking them down (or whatever he was doing)? I'm not confident that all those questions are going to be answered. Also, part of my uncertainty comes from the fact that some of their powers are pretty straightforward mutant/superhero powers, and some (like the mirror image woman) don't make a lot of sense to me in that context. Basically, I'd like some more worldbuilding so I understand the boundaries of this universe a little better.
Do you really want all the questions answered in the second episode?
Of course not, but I want a couple of good clues about what's tying them all together, or failing that, at least some more background information on the characters. As someone else said upthread, I don't even remember most of their names. Hm. I think I'm satisfied with the basic plot premise so far, but not the individual stories or the larger world they're set in.

my first reaction upon seeing her story was Dark Phoenix/Jean Gray (the movie version, not the comic book version)-- that they were symbolizing her schizophrenia via the reflections.

I think that makes more sense in a realism sort of way. But how creepy would it be if it were actually an independent reflection that's smashing its way out of mirrors when needed?
I'm on-board with the next door neighbor is a spy theory. I thought the same thing when Mohindar started telling her everything.
