The Scottish word is 'Ned', but I can't think of what the Northern equivalent would be

'Townie', as my Northern friends tell me.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Heroes kept my interest for the second hour, not in a way that the first hour did. Although, I still haven't caught most of the character names, except Super-Hiro, and the Flying Peretti Brothers. Oh, and Claire is the cheerleader....

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

We're all on the same page about what worked and what didn't.

This is as good to hear as the talk of next season.

I'll also re-afirm my enjoyment of HEROES and hope the ratings are on par with last week's (which I heard were good).

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

One thing that does bug about Heroes is Claire's dad and (what appears to be) his crew. On one hand they seem incredibly omniscient and adept (obtaining Claire's video tape), while at the same time adding new meaning to the term "unstealthy" (the guy in Mohinder's apartment, and taunting Mohinder in the cab).

All is well that ends in pizza.

(the guy in Mohinder's apartment, and taunting Mohinder in the cab).

That was Claire's dad, wasn't it?

Art Crawl!!!

Yes, that was Claire's dad.

I'm not getting their agenda. I have assumed that the reason that Claire was adopted was because her dad thought she'd develop powers but then it seems like his mission is to destroy the people with the powers.

I am still loving Hiro. And now - also Greg Grunberg's character and was that Joan of Arcadia's best friend as a police detective?

I'm not sure about that, but we were just talking in natter about how the cop who arrested Greg Grunberg was Clea Duvall (Marcie the invisible girl, among other roles).

Art Crawl!!!

The brunette?

I saw her in the credits but I didn't recognize her.

The guy taunting in the cab was. The pest control guy in Mohinder's apartment was someone else. (Claire's dad was in the father's apartment in Madras, which also seemed a bit clumsy. I mean, leaving your cell phone on whilst lurking about?)

I find the super-solemn treatment of Heroes off-putting. But I guess that's why I don't read superhero comics.

And the evil conspiracy of Anti-Heroes, meh. I'd like someone to stop the conspiracy of people who want every TV show to feature a conspiracy. I imagine the creators saying, "Turns out that building up plausible conflict takes a lot of work, so how about instead we throw in an omniscient, omnipotent, ill-explained cabal, and then we can take a long weekend?"
