We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

My fellow SciFi fan/co-worker just stopped by my desk and asked if I caught last night's Eureka--he's a big fan, and is really hoping it gets picked up for another season. Oh, and he handed Colin a big compliment by saying how Carter "really anchors the show."

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

I'll give it a shot.

It's a crunchy boilermaker in a bowl!

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Finally saw this week's Eureka. I'm sure Colin is sick of hearing how great he is, so I won't bore you with that bit.

Note to self: When slapping the cushion next to you as an outlet for the hilarity of the Lupo/Taggart kissage, please check that crafting supplies such as needles and pins are not on the cushion.

Note to People in Charge of the Story: There had better be some real damn good reason for Taggart's crappy fake accent, because it is severely annoying. I really, really, really LIKE Matt Frewer. I like Eureka very much. Logically, I should expect to enjoy his performance in this show. And yet, I'm cringing whenever Matt Frewer opens his mouth. This, in my book, is very wrong. Please to do something about this. Soon. And yes, I'm going to keep pointing this out as long as it bothers me.

Blinks.

Merciful Heavens, I hope they don't fix the crappy fake Aussie accent by explaining that "Taggart"'s real accent is, say, German, or Russian, or Japanese....

Shudders.

Meanwhile, I thought we had come to the conclusion that the medicine on House, M.D. is so ... unreliable... as to qualify as science fiction, and therefore the show qualified for discussion here.

Another real-world nitpick on Eureka: When Jack was out sick and Jo was off playing paintball, who was left to guard the town? I sure hope there is at least one more deputy we have not met yet. Maybe also Global Dynamics corporate security people. I know the cast needed to be limited for the first season, but I hope it can expand for the second. And I do really want to see more of these characters.

All is well that ends in pizza.

I liked the episode, but I'm... bugged... by the indifference to the pizza guy death.

I saw no indifference. They all acted like very smart people who suddenly knew this was serious. None of the characters are the panicy type. It seems to me that when you are in a situation where you are aware that your mortality quotient just went up and you are suddenly sealed off from each other, you aren't going to focus on the death of someone you barely know. You are going to think about yourself first, then those around you.

It's not that they were indifferent, the characters just not the kind to be overly demonstrative when under their own threats.

As for nitpicks, the skylight seemed to have sunlight coming down from the right side of the ladder, but the climbing was done on the dark side. I hope Jack didn't hit his head. S.A.R.A.H. would have to take care of him...

"Would you mind not farting while I'm saving the world?" - Doctor Who

New poster. Be gentle with me. I'm just catching up. =)

Loved last night's episode. I'm embarassed to say that I missed the lack of reaction to the pizza guy's death because I was too busy reading the "Pizza Pi" logo on his shirt and noticing the Trek "red shirt" homage.

The Stark/Henry conversation brought some great depth to both characters. Stark is easily becoming the most complex character on the show and EQ nails it.

My favorite fanboy moment was CF lying on the couch reading "The Savage Brothers" and EQ ripping it up later to cover the air vents.

The only thing that didn't read for me last night was Bev. Her "reconciliation" with Fargo wasn't really explained and she never seemed to take up her professional mantle to help mediate any of the relationship crises. I don't see how she was critical to keeping either Carter or Henry from leaving, which was Sarah's stated purpose for paging everyone. Maybe this has something to do with her sub-plot being edited out. So far she seems the most under-utilized cast member. I feel like I should be disliking her a lot more at this point in the show since she's our big villain (nothing personal Debrah!).

Now tagless for your comfort.

Yes, i'll be playing Carter's new midget minion from outer space.

This worked for Francesca Buller.
