A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
We the whole thing in half an hour with 2 cameras burning the whole time.
Okay, I am very interested in the idea of setting my tools on
fire
in order to make deadline. This, to me, is the part that needs remarking on! (Whaddya
mean
it's slang? Give me my hilarious delusions, please.)
Also, anything with a "monkey beam" in it.
a chimp ripping off some lab-coat-wearing guy's arm off and beating him in the head with the severed limb
The New Adventures of Beowulf! Coming soon to a cable channel near you.
Great news about the ratings! I'm afraid I had no chance to see this week's show, but I hope to catch next week's if the schedule coincides with mine.

Ack! That's scarier than the chimps. Cuz you just know it's a Kevin Sorbo vehicle.
Loved the Eurekaberry analogy. Funny images for my head.
And "two cameras burning"... I meant rolling but it felt like burning.
Jessica ... you have to be wary. According to someone on the IMDB board, the broadcast version on BBCA is quite heavily edited to allow for commercials. To see the unedited versions you need to subscribe to BBCA Free On Demand.
While David E. Kelley is the wrong choice for making a US version of
Life on Mars,
I think it goes way beyond whomever is in charge. LoM takes its cue from shows like
Target,
and
The Sweeney,
and I don't believe there is a 70's US equivelant to those type of shows. What you'll end up with is a variation on
Starsky & Hutch
and the feeling will not be the same.
eta: Oh and I just found out the R4 version of the DVDs is released next week, so I'm going to order once I'm sure it has all the extras that the R2 version contains.
Cuz you just know it's a Kevin Sorbo vehicle.
fondly remembering the Xena Beowolf/Ring Cycle mashup.
With apologies to "Blanca", who listed these cuts to episode 2 here -> [link]
Cut from Ep. 2:
"Real. Unreal." (which sucks because I'd like to see that)
The scene where they first bring in Trent
Trent's other excuses after "cookery classes"
Sam putting tapioca pudding on his burger (!)
The ambulance driver
Sam and Annie in Sam's flat
The matron in the hospital room (Sam tells her to tell June's parents to talk to her - aww!)
Mrs. Trent
The ice cream truck
Ray on the radio (the way it plays now it seems like they never went to Annie's at all)
The darts match
Leonard and Sam after he IDs Trent
I have to say, while you shouldn't miss any of the scenes, you should especially not miss the Ice Cream truck scene. The Gene Genie out-does himself. A fricken hoot and a half!
eta: cos I still don't know the difference between "greater than" and "less than"

Yes, I commented on the reversioning in my post -- it's quite noticeable, unfortunately. (And if there were a polite way to say so, I'd just go downstairs and tell them, but we're in such completely different areas of the building that I don't know anyone in that department by name.)
I'm afraid we'll have to agree to disagree on the new blue Who suit. I like it.
I don't hate it, but I think the cut of the front of it is unfortunate, and brown's a more attractive color on Tennant. Have to wait to see it on screen before I really decide, though.
