'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I listened to last week's podcast, which was good fun. Quinn has a lovely voice and a great sense of humor -- which I already knew about Colin -- so it was great to hear you guys bouncing off each other.

I really hope we get a DVD set with the commentaries and deleted scenes and all that. While I'm at it, I'll wish for a pony, and a second season....

Overall, I thought Purple Haze was a great episode and gave us some great character development.

The scene with Allison & Carter at her home was great. Particularly right after the door gets slammed in Carter's face.

The baseball bat scene was also really good.

I think there was a bit of a plot hole regarding Stark. I can't imagine it would've taken him all day and night to get down to Section 5 and to get to the artifact. Presumably, he would have privileges to grant access to the artifact (similar to the situation in Artifact). In addition, Allison and Carter seemed to get there pretty quickly, and they certainly don't have access to it. (OK, maybe one could aruge that Stark left things open as he went, but the timeline is still all off.)

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Particularly right after the door gets slammed in Carter's face.

You mean where her boobs bob straight towards the camera for an inordinately long period of time?

Haha... I was actually referring to Carter's antics through the glass, but I certainly can't say that the section you're referring to was hard on the eyes. :)

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Oh, forgot to mention in my comments that, yes, this is one of my favorite episodes so far. I'm glad you let the characters develop a bit before trying out a "Naked Time" episode (would that TNG had waited at least as long before trying it out).

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

IIRC, Henry's in civvies in the previews, so it certainly looks like he might be on his way out of town, or at the very least, not doing any of his 157 jobs.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Noooooooooo! Hennnnnnnnrrrry!

What I love best about Purple Haze: Carter figured it out by his lonesome. Very good episode. Love the roasted chestnuts line as well as Carter at the door. My favorite was "Yeah, it's purple. Gotta go." (Colin's great delivery). I liked the North by Northwest homage better than the Apocolypse Now nod.

Next week looks good.

I need to rewatch to be sure why precisely, but I really liked Colin's delivery when he goes to Allison's house and hasn't quite worked out how far gone she is. Nicely human.

Allround kudos to the actors in this ep. Fargo was more like himself than ever, so no biggie there. But Stark put a nicely vulnerable face on his obsession, Allison was sexy for the first time ever, Jo's glee was contagious, Zoe's panic was well-delivered, and Henry...oh, poor Henry. I'm glad someone learnt something from this. Sorry it had to be him, like this. Joe did a really good job with the sad exasperation.

Though I did think the chef's 'transformation' made little sense. He really wants to beat up his customers and serve them shitty food?

I really liked it too, and I really liked the "I'm going to regret this whether I do the right thing or the wrong thing" vibe I was getting off of him once he did realize.

Art Crawl!!!

The Chef thing doesn't make sense because he always just serves his customers what he wants to anyway, right?
