Yeah, he used to run GD and then got transferred or took a job moving him away....yeah that was it. He got offered a job and chose it over his family. I think that's the backstory for the separation. It all got mentioned but onyl briefly.
Then WK got "relocated" and the powers that be brought Stark back.
Everytime I see GD, I think General Dynamics. So, now I'm wondering if that was on purpose or just my ex-military mind playing with old acronyms.
GD's not an acronym. It's, uh, an initialism or something like.
Global Dynamics. And it does put one in mind of General Dynamics.
GD's not an acronym
Whoops. Ah, well, you still knew what I meant, right?
Oh, yeah. Just practising my pedantry. In case it gets rusty, see?
Hee--my fellow Buffy fan here at work just came over and asked if I was familiar with this new show on SciFi called something that he couldn't remember offhand. "Eureka?" I asked. "That's it! They have this Buffy fan character on the show who's just hilarious."
I dropped Colin's name as someone somebody I know (well, virtually, but I didn't get into that) was college friends with, and he said that he really liked your performance as Sheriff Carter. I also told him about the Eureka marathon on the 3rd, and he said he might queue up the VCR for that day to catch the episodes he's missed.
Oh my gosh, I just caught up from last freakin' Friday. (Well, last night, that is.) And it seems quiet, so I'm going to babble.
SG-1: Holy hot Daniel! Is that sudden, or is it just the civvie clothes? Also, mmmm, pantsless Cam. I love how much Sam cracks up about it.
SGA: The Hewletts are adorable. And the only thing better than IndignantCranky!Rodney is Earnest!Rodney. Mmm. I teared up. Also, I thought the Canadian "sorry" joke was funny on such a meta level, as AT's "sorry"s have been getting progressively Canadian-er (including the one she opens that scene with). The one after the joke is the most American one she's ever delivered.
I snorted so many times during that show. (Also, what's the the guess on a timeline to AU!Rod/AU!John fic? Another week?)
Eureka: I agree with ita that, after Colin's warning, it didn't seem nearly as bad. I actually liked the ep, it had some funny moments. I noticed that after the scene with the dissolution papers, they show Stark's readouts, and while the anger is high, the green line for depression was well above the other lines shown. He was both cranky and sad.
I thought the music suited the scene... if the kid spins "Moby meets Devo," then if you say "romantic music" that seems like something he'd be likely to pull out.
(Though I didn't get the "lie back and think of Eureka" vibe on the kiss. Was it all that much of a sacrifice?)

Try yesterday. trinityofone's LJ.

I believe the point was that it wasn't a sacrifice at all. She said she finally figured out what he was doing, and he said he meant every word, and then he said something like, I'm doing this (the kiss) for god and country, to emphasize that he meant the kiss, too.
