I'm not sure how old he is, but I heard him use the word 'newfangled' one time, so he's gotta be pretty far gone.

Boxed Set, Vol. III: "That Can't Be Good..."

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Our wings are not tired.

Maybe in sorting out the scene we got too familiar with the props. I'll re-watch it.

Since it was on this computer I watched the end again quickly. I hadn't noticed the cups the first time I watched the episode. That isn't the kind of thing that I notice anyway. I think Windy is right about the hot liquid thing. You do hold a cup of water differently than a cup of hot coffee. It is the casual handling of the cups.

Then again, I got to rewatch the Jack/Zoe interaction at the end. Which I enjoyed as a parent of a teen.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Zoe: Really? Because I think I'm going back to blonde! Zoe grins, leaves.
Jack: After the door shuts Oh! Thank God. Makes a whooo-whew sort of sound.

Maybe this isn't so much Jack the not-quite-in-character parent saying this, maybe it is the Jack the audience proxy saying it. Because every time Zoe was on screen with the RED! hair, the rest of her looked so washed out as to remind me of Chiana. G'head. Ask Daniel how many times I said that while the show was on. Even the cat was telling me to shut up.

Our wings are not tired.

The schools here don't let the kids have great insane hair colors, but other than that Zoe looks like teens I see regularly. Since I was 16 in 1970 my crowd didn't do crazy hair, or makeup, or bras for that matter. I enjoy watching the neighborhood girls experiment with their looks. The boys do the same, but not as dramatically for the most part.

Our wings are not tired.

From sumi's link:

The set, released on 20 November 2006, comes in lenticular packaging that features a special moving image on both front and back.

Guesses on what the special moving image might be? Galek? TARDIS?

Also, Woo! I don't believe I have seen the word lenticular before. Excellent shiny new word.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I've been thinking about the magnetic fence. If it were as strong as the magnet in an MRI, the whole thing works a little better.

I have, too. Actually, I've been thinking way too much about it. Anyway, my new question is, of what use is a magnetic fence in the first place, especially in the context of a dairy farm? The dairy farms I used to live next door to had an electric fence, which I'm sure had a teensy magnetic field, but the electric shock potential was the key to keeping the cows in.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I liked the red hair, except that it was pretty obviously a wig, and therefore temporary. (And no teenager ever dyes her hair that color for the first time without even a single embarrassing red forehead splotch. Er, so I've heard...)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Anyway, my new question is, of what use is a magnetic fence in the first place, especially in the context of a dairy farm? The dairy farms I used to live next door to had an electric fence, which I'm sure had a teensy magnetic field, but the electric shock potential was the key to keeping the cows in.

Exactly. The problem was an electric fence gone haywire, not a magnetised one.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I thought the electric fence had gone haywire by becoming magnetized.
