Karl, jump on in, the water's fine!

The Great Write Way
A place for Buffistas to discuss, beta and otherwise deal and dish on their non-fan fiction projects.
Welcome, Karl! You will be a most welcome addition to this thread! Mostly we post in-progress and excerpts, and people critique and hair-pat. We talk about the business end of things too, and sound advice is given. Oh, and we do the weekly drabble thing, 100 words on a topic from Teppy every Monday. So definitely do jump in, and have fun. I'll check out your lj (my userid over there is fatoudust).
Yay, you, Allyson. Yeah, it's crazy. While I'm NaNoWriMoing I'm so conscious of word count, that I keep thinking about the number of words I'm putting into posts (and not putting into the novel).
Thanks, everyone...I thought about quitting cause it seemed silly or superficial.Whether or not, it wants to be more than maybe I do.(And some mystery writers are/were highly political individuals, so it wouldn't *have* to. Be silly and superficial that is.)
erika, go write, damnit.
Yup, yup, erika. Seconding deb's damnit.
What, now? I'll write two, they're small. :)
Hey erika, come sit in the I Will Never Get Over How Silly and Superficial I Feel Corner with me and write anyway.
It feels really really good.
But I wanted to grow up and be the poor man's Molly Ivins. And that didn't happen. And I am not likely to really create the lovechild of Chandler and O'Connor either...I might be weird for finding that a goal, even. But being in a corner with Allyson...not all bad, considering I named my lead for you, Allyson.

Awwwww. Does she have a zit the size of Omaha on her left cheek? Because I do. Ouch.
But I wanted to grow up and be the poor man's Molly Ivins.
Apparently, I'm the poor man's Florence King.
You can still be the poor man's Molly Ivins.
The poor need good reading, too.
I call poor man's Lorrie Moore.
