It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Susan, my brother - when he got married - was somewhere between 6-3 and 6-5 (edit #1: disc surgery, that's four compressed discs, and age have taken about two inches off his height). My pepperpot of an Andalusian SIL is 4-11.

I have no trouble visualising this, none at all. I'm actually kind of sorry that I didn't get to see my daughter and her then-sort of-boyfriend during the brief period of time when she was casually dating Antawn Jamison (edit#2: my daughter is about 5-7. That makes him, what, 14" taller than she is.)

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Thanks, y'all--that helps. I was just having trouble because, lacking the experience of spending much time around people more than 6-7 inches taller than me, it's hard to picture things like where I'd come to on their bodies, just how much taller someone needs to be before you don't clear their shoulders, etc.

Bag the crypto. Say what is on your mind.

Couples of widely divergent height have a tendency to minimize the comparison around people. They stand farther apart, avoid slow dancing around strangers, etc. Just my $.02

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

I could use a beta for a story too, if anyone would like to volunteer. I have no idea if it works. It's one of my favorite ideas I've ever come up with, but the first writing didn't flow right, so I've just rewritten it. Now I'm lost in "was it even worth it?" land.

ETA: I'm 5'7", Nick's dad was about 6'5". My head went right into the hollow of his shoulder. Kissing was better if we were both laying down or sitting. I had a crick in my neck a lot.

(I'm so happy to see a gus post!)

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Gus has been in Firefly too. We were bogarting the Gus.

Deena, me?

And Susan, don't forget that taller people are also bigger proportionately. I remember someone talking about having met Andre the Giant, and being just amazed at having his hand swallowed in a handshake, how big around the collar of his shirt was, etc. Comparisons of this sort might help get the size differential across, more than just height.

Also, just a quick thing. I was watching the "date" thing on TLC tonight, and the body language person mentioned a tell to look for.

A visually-oriented person, when asked a question, or trying to talk and think their way through an idea, will glance upward. An audially-oriented person will glance sideways, toward their ears. And a kinesthetically-oriented person will glance downward. I thought these were wonderful character clues to imbed offhand in a story someday.

Mart, she told me she broke up with Antawn because he was a bit of a mama's boy.
