She's terse. I can be terse. Once in flight school, I was laconic.

The Great Write Way

A place for Buffistas to discuss, beta and otherwise deal and dish on their non-fan fiction projects.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

Hmm. How well does it work, given the Buffista propensity to talk things to death?

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

This I totally love:

It's the back of the postcards we're having done. We laid out the blurbs from the reviews, onto a mousepad.

Weirdly, in here, it tends to be more to the point: questions, answers, and genreal support. Rather focussed, oddly enough.

You should have been here the day I happened to be on the phone with Marlene about life in general, and Susan posted that she'd finished the book, and I commented on it, and Marlene asked about it and then asked to see it.

I wish I had been here -- I can picture Susan's face!

My husband is playing ROTK trailers.

Nic knows better than to do that with me in the room. Tolkein makes me break out in a rash.

Do you remember what Ursula LeGuin wrote about wanting to found the Halfling Socialist Union after she finished LOTR?

I haven't read any LeGuin in donkey's years, but that one's familiar, yes indeed.

I keep relatively quiet about my untaste for the stuff these days, so as not to upset the multitudes who like it. Personally, I prefer my Norse mythology with sex and music, and a comfy pillow to keep my ass from turning to stone during 17 interminable hours of Brunhilde and whatnot, and watching them shtupp the Rhine Maidens and found the Master race.

Ah, Wagner.

Lizard! How've you been, doll?

Deb, don't tell, but I bought DH the Met's Ring Cycle on DVD; Samuel Ramey singing Woden. Good times, good times.

Good times, good times

Heh. All those carolling giant virgins. Dear old Valkries.

Sing it with me, to the tune of "Ride of the Valkyries"

"We're all obNOXious, we're shrieking MADly...."

or, in other parlance?

"Kill the waaaaabit!"
