Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

if it is a both arms over the shoulder hug, it doesn;t matter which side.

So your head can be left or right?

Now I'm trying to think of who I hug right over/left under and who I hug both over. And if I hug anyone both under.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Head to the left?

Yep. I think that's a standard convention. Otherwise - headknocking. And I suspect it's based on predominant right handedness.

only both arms under with some of the really tall exes. If I hug both arms under head only hits the chest.

and yeah, head either side if both arms over. cause usually with a both arms over, that person is about to get kissed.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

And if I hug anyone both under.

Being short, anyone over 6' gets the both under from me. Otherwise we both try to be pretzels, which is inclined to throw backs out.

The Rolling Stones are playing about 500 feet from my house right now.

How's it sound?

It sounds pretty good. Actually, I can go outside my door and cross the street and see the video screen. It's kind of like a street party out there. Too bad it's been pissing rain all day.

Happy belated birthday, btw!

Thanks! It was an awesome day. I hope that means it's the beginning of a great new year for me.

I have no idea how I hug. I guess I'll have to hug someone and see what happens. Where's Jesse?

Hmm. I think I do both arms over to greet Colin, but no kissing. Some dangling, though. It's a position I will stand in to talk to him. I think I'm head left there too.

Right handedness? Is that about keeping the right hand free?

Where's Jesse?

If you can't find her, try sarameg.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

If you can't find her, try sarameg.

But then you have to throw in a cheek pinch. What hand would you use?

Hug, pull back, squee, pinch both cheeks with both hands.

Oh sara....

Mick is introducing the band. ETA: Keith got the biggest cheer. Probably because he's Johnny Depp's dad.
