Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Hey! I just got a 5% raise. That's good, right? After taxes, It's like my cable/broadband access is paid for each month. Whoot!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

That's good, right?

That's about 2% above the national average, I think.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Timelies,

Skipped close to 600 posts.

So after a couple more scheduling changes, the last one suggested by yours truly and surprisingly approved, I'm now working 11:00am to 8:30pm, which really isn't all that bad. Unfortunately, my days off are Wednesday and Sunday (this part was not suggested by me). So I get to use up the rest of my personal time for the year attending my nephew's birthday party this Saturday and my girlfriend's birthday party next Saturday. There is something very wrong about having to use up vacation time on a Saturday.

Still it's a whole lot better than the thoroughly ridiculous 3am to 12:30pm schedule they were originally going to put me on or the 2pm to 11:30pm (also with Wed and Sun off) schedule they started this week with me on. So, things could be better, but I'm no longer in a state of outrage. Not that that's stopping from looking for what's out there. HR still won't give us an answer on shift differentials and no one has any idea how holidays are going to be handled yet.

I'm becoming convinced that I never should have quit my soul-sucking job to move to Chicago, because apparently, no one wants to hire me here.

Sorry you're still having a crappy time of it, shrift. My company's hiring, but I wouldn't in good conscience recommend anyone to intentionally get themselves involved in our current mess. Pre-CIO and re-org, I would have highly recommended this place, though. Current BS aside, I still work with some good people.

What type of position are you looking for? I've got friends keeping an eye out for me and I've passed on a couple due to location and/or lack of qualifications. If I hear about anything in or near the city, I'd be happy to pass it on.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

That sounds much better, Kalshane, even if still not ideal.

Yeah. If I actually got the weekends off and had some sort of assurance that I wouldn't be spending Thanksgiving and Christmas sitting in an empty building, I'd actually be fairly happy with it. If I ignored the craxy management and assorted administrative BS going on right now, anyway.

Since I skipped, have you heard anything more from the place you interviewed with?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I don't think I've gotten a raise at a job in seven years. Granted, there are three different full-time jobs and grad school in there, but still. I tend to work at places that "temporarily" aren't giving annual raises. Oy.

Just needed to make sure I could have my Peanut M&M's. I never ever ever fly without them.

On Sunday, I saw a gate agent start to tell a kid he couldn't bring his sandwich on, but her supervisor said no, the sandwich was fine. So someone might tell you know, and they might be wrong.

My work outing was the biggest waste of time ever. The actual outing was surprisingly fun. The three-hour trip EACH WAY? NSM.

Where did you go?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

The COO's country house. Which, fine, but seriously -- we could have gone to Central Park.
