In business school in college, we learned that some vodka company produced a more expensive version of their regular vodka - the more expensive stuff then sold better than the regular stuff, despite the fact that they were
exactly the same.
Yeah, the only difference was a different label and a higher price....
On the flip side, in college I thought that there was really no difference between vodka brands, so I once bought the cheapest vodka I could find, called Something Special From Wisconsin. It was awful. My friends made fun of me for that for years....
vodka and Mountain Dew? Say it ain't so.
Not much different from vodka & Red Bull, I'd think. Not having had either mixer, I could be talking out of my ass.
Cheap vodka filtered through a Brita filter tastes similar to more expensive brands: [link]
Mountain Dew
is
ass. It's horribly sweet and disgusting. Red Bull is clearer in taste somehow.
vodka & Red Bull
That always sounds vile to me, but I used to drink rum & Jolt, so I have no business high horsing it.
vodka & Red Bull
It is vile to me. But then, plain Red Bull is vile to me.
Mythbusters has done a whole series of vodka experiments.
I had a Russian co-worker for a while. On his last day of work we hit a bar and had some ice-cold vodka. He took one sip and said, "Vodka should be 60% alcohol. This is only 40%."
I was amazed....
Thanks for the Homicide heads up, Dana. The discs are pretty low in my netflix queue, but 8 am turns out to be a good time for me to catch it on WGN.
I decided to give Desperate Housewives another try this season, so I set up the Season Pass yesterday, which got me last season's finale. I'm watching it now and I have NO IDEA what's going on. It's not making me sorry I missed the season, though.
