It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

THe Hummer ads on TWoP's front page are cracking me up today.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

You have to show your work, dcp.

Let's see....

For a body in an elliptical orbit of semimajor axis a about a much more massive body of mass M the orbital period P is given by
P=(2 pi a3/2) / √(gM)

Unfortunately, I don't know what g (acceleration due to gravity, I think) would be.... oh well.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

There's a guy here at work who's very patient with me, like it's all he can do to avoid blowing his stack with me.

Thing is, he's like that whether I agree with him or not. I cannot even begin to imagine how to calm him down. Sure, many of the times we disagree I'm right, and that may be annoying, but when we're in accord?

Perplexed.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

There's a woman here who generally seems either condescending or defensive, but I'm pretty sure she only means it about half of the time. It's just her way.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

(Or maybe it's a chicken trying to rescue a kitten from a monkey. It's hard to tell.)

I saw that yesterday-- and it does seem like the monkey is all "my preccioussss" over the kitten.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's just her way.

When he says "How can I explain this without losing it?" when he's asking me to prepare a draft of a document for which he later admits I don't have the information to even start...it's more than just his way.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

You have to show your work, dcp.

I guess I should have put in the t kidding t /kidding tags.

Okay, here's how it works out for a 100kg person and a 10 gram marble:

Period = 2 * π * (a3/2) / (G*(M1+M2))1/2

Period = 2 * π * (1.5243/2) / ((6.67259*10-11)*(100+.01))1/2 = 144707 seconds

144707 seconds = 1 day 16 hours 11 minutes 47 seconds.

edited to play with t sup and t sub tags.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

I got a french press! And a travel mug! And some coffee! And it was only about twenty euro. I am so ridiculously pleased. Also, the battery for my ipod came, so I will be able to listen to music more than twenty minutes a day! And I get real food to eat! Today has been awesome.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I want SA's day.

Period = 2 * π * (1.524^1.5) / (((6.67259*(10^-11))*(100+.01))^.5) = 144707 seconds

144707 seconds = 1 day 16 hours 11 minutes 47 seconds.

I love this place.
