Giles, if you would like to get by in American society, then you are going to have to follow our traditions. You're the patriarch. You have to host the festivities, or it's all meaningless.

I've always been somewhere between a 6 and an 8, though lately leaning more toward a solid 8. I'm about 5'6". I would be okay with this, but I know I need to exercise more and stop eating so much crap. If I were a toned and fit 8, no problem. But I'm so not.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I figure, why work to be a size 10? One day, I'll just buy a whole new body and have mt head attached to it.

information libertarian

I bought 2 pants and 1 skirt at Target recently. All the same brand (Merona). The pants are both 10s and snug, and I bought a 6 in the skirt and should have bought a 4. SAME BRAND!!!

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Seriously. Although my most unfavorite size was busting-out-of-14. "Regular" sized clothes were too small, plus size were too big.

I'm glad I skipped straight to occasionally falling out of 14 in my shopping this time. (Which, seriously, makes me realize I need to actually try shit on. Or buy belts. Or just move slowly and hope for the best.) Because that stage drives me batty.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't mind my size at all, I just wish I could take all my clothes with me as I bounced up and down the size chart. I'm not throwing shit out, because life has taught me nothing if not that I can't stay any given size on purpose, but I hate looking at that red skirt and knowing I'm three months of kettlebell and some Elavil past being able to wear it.

For now.

I do have at least one skirt I bought in a 4 and a 6 (different colours--I figured I'd mix it up), and I may just keep doing stuff like that.

No, 5'6" isn't short. That's why I want to claim it.
