I know, world in peril and we have to work together. This is my last office romance, I'll tell you that.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

At least nobody would say to you, "Aren't you a little short for a stormtrooper?"

Heh.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

tommy, you're still looking at DragonCon-related stuff, aren't you?

I doubt that the guy dressed up as Dr. Venture was actually grumpy -- it seems much more likely that he was in character. I've never seen anyone at DC get grumpy about having their picture taken. If you come to DC in costume, it's kind of a given that people will ask for a picture. And I've also never seen any of the staff be assholes, which is pretty incredible for a con of that size. I would not want to be the security people who had to wrangle 3,000 people for each Firefly and Mythbusters panel.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I came to work today, even though I didn't really feel that well this morning. Considering that now I'm not sure I feel well enough to drive home, I'm beginning to think this might not fall into the "good idea" category.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Is there somewhere you can sleep? Can that help?

I've now taken to having the back of the front passenger seat fully reclined (VW had the stupidest labour-intensive reclining controls) so I can sleep easily any time.

With migraines, that often makes the difference between being able to drive or not. But I'm willing to drive tentatively home more than I'm willing to do it in the way into the office.

Our four hour meeting turned into a two and a half hour meeting! Most excellent. Now work can begin.

Bad Tribune Writing:

When they converged near S. Wood Street the man pulled a handgun and struggled with Douglas briefly before firing, fatally wounding him several times.

What does that mean? It sounds like he was wounded several times, with each wound sufficient by itself to kill him. ...Don't think that's what they meant, though....

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Crack broke 13k last night, BTW.

Good lord. This better not be epic, dude. Or I will laugh and laugh and laugh.

In other news, my bus was blocked by no less than a horse-drawn carriage today on its way to my stop. It was kind of funny, because the driver of the carriage wasn't looking around and instead kept telling the tourists he was guiding about the various landmarks or whatever, and the bus just couldn't get around him. When the bus finally had an exit, it sped like it was made to do it, until it was stopped in about 50 meters by a stoplight. Crazy!

Also, I now have my cable for my new digital camera, which I bought yesterday. Which means I can take and upload photos again, yay! Such a relief.

Not really. Car's too small. I've been putting my head down on my desk some, and that helps.

Thanks Tom.

eta: Ack, Msbelle. I hope both clear up soon.
