I think beer and wine have been available in groceries and convenience stores for a long time.

Around here it's weird to have a grocery store than doesn't have beer and wine. We even have liqour stores that sell gas too.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

They keep getting bigger.

They're HUGE!

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

So, every time before I walk a significant distance?

It's what I was told to do, and it seems to work pretty well. I just take two ibuprofen before doing something strenuous.

What is even happening?

Actually, I'm surprised dry towns are BYOB.
Some aren't.

I just found an 8 minute and 10 second season 2 outtakes video for Veronica Mars, on YouTube [link] Outtakes featuring a Buffista person of interest * Joss Whedon * may be found at about the 3:25 mark.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

We even have liqour stores that sell gas too.

If only they'd also sell guns and ammo....

Swouncing

Skipping way too much to post that, according to the Buffista Calendar, today is Lyra Jane's birthday. I haven't seen posts from her in quite a while, but I hope the well-wishes find their way to her, somehow.

Also, since I will soon log off for the weekend, I'll post already that Saturday, the 9th, will be Spidra's birthday, and send early wishes her way, as well.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

I'm pretty sure Maine didn't open up till after my family had moved away. And, I'd never been to agrocery store in New Hampshire. (But that state sells things like fireworks! We know they are all deviants.)

(Seriously, my main experience of NH was the gigantic liquor stores right off the state border that catered to highway purchasers hoping to avoid sales tax. Liquor stores and fireworks stores: a whole state devoted to the Darwin Awards.)

They have corking fees at restaurants around here, so I'd never thought of it as a dry town thing.

I don't think I've ever been to a restaurant in a wet town that had a corking fee, and even in dry towns it varies. I'm pretty sure that Arlington doesn't allow alcohol at all (or, it does now, to like 20 licenses per year), but Chilmark you just brought your own and had them uncork it for you.

It's really a bit headspinny, how much it's changed in 10 years. When I finished college, there was extensive discussion of the need to hit the liquor store the night before, because graduation was on Sunday and you wouldn't be able to resupply on the day.

Ibuprofen isn't an anticoagulant like asprin, is it?

Wal-Mart super center. You can get booze, gas, guns, ammo, food, and a lawn tractor all in one stop.
