Zoe: Yeah? Thought you'd get land crazy that long in port. Wash: Probably, but I've been sane a long while now, and change is good.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

33 weeks as of yesterday.

Intestinal distress can spook OBs, because it can irritate the uterus.

Well, bother the OBs. My uterus is fine, and I wouldn't have had the distress if I hadn't had almost a week of, ah, um, the opposite problem as a result of LYING DOWN 18 HOURS A DAY FOR AN ENTIRE MONTH LIKE THEY TOLD ME TO.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

OK the article ita linked has confused me.

Dr Esponda gives the example of a negative survey in which respondents are asked to tick the box of one sexually transmitted disease they do not have. e reckons that this would be sufficient to estimate the population frequency of each disease.

OK. I don't get this. You have a survey with the following choices:

1) I don't have the funny syphilis. 2) I don't have lobsters. 3) I am not carrying/did not father the anti-christ.

In a survey of 25,000 peole, 33% select 1, 60% select 2 and 7% select 3.

How does this tell you the prevalence of any or all of the three?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

The flopsy asleep picture on Tom's shoulder? So darn cute. Parents are freaky and off-putting but a really cute darn pictures.

I just realized that I am leaving town Friday morning. Thus I should, dunno, pack? prepare to leave? do laundry so I actually have clean clothes to pack? eat something? buy my sister some freaking baby presents?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

UPDATE on last night's movie ad triggered crime notoriety question! The ad for Hollywoodland says it's "Hollywood's most notorious case" or whatever. Hence Black Dahlia claiming the state of California.

All becomes clear.

Oh, for fuck's sake. One of my half.com items apparently never got to the buyer. This pisses me off because it's one I hated to part with and would rather have kept -- now I'll be out the book AND the money.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

That sucks, Emily. I hope it somehow shows up.
