And, unlike Lizzie Borden, Nicole Simpson, et al., they're genuinely unsolved as opposed to "the one we're sure is the real killer got off."
Is that true with Lizzie? I'd always taken that case to be more, "we think the real killer probably got off."
I don't get the distinction.
Ow. In the last twelve hours or so, I have hit myself really hard in the mouth with a box fan,
OUCH! Poor baby.
and gotten upset enough (for various reasons) to bring my fist down hard on the top of the back of my office chair, fucking up my wrist on the solid piece of wood that give the back its shape.
Also poor baby. Is work bringing on the upset, or is this related to S? How is she doing?
(Anyone else want to get Sean and Daisy Jane liquored up, lock 'em in a room and do experiments on them see who comes out? Just me then. My money's on
Daisy,
fwiw.)
Frank, nobody was ever convicted of the Borden murders -- Lizzie was tried and found not guilty.

Right, but a lot of people still thought she had done it. If I remember correctly, the gist of the defense was "a woman wouldn't be capable of this" even though the evidence pretty much pointed right at her. While a number of people bought the premise of the defense, a lot of people didn't as well.
ETA: Actually, that doesn't look satisfying.
There are other theories as to who killed the Bordens. But I think it's safe to say that most people believe Lizzie did it.
Is S at least doing better?
For very loose values of "better." It's an ongoing problem that's eventually going to need something major to take care of it. She's better enough to be home from the hospital, but there's going to be ups and downs until it's resolved.
Is work bringing on the upset, or is this related to S?
It's related to S's problems. Not her in specific, of course, but frustrations over trying to take care of her and get her the help she needs.
I always feel so sad for Princess Masako. Maybe this will help, at least taking the disappointment of a nation off her some. [link]
The distinction I was trying to make was between
sure
and
possible,
Frank. I don't know if they've done modern day (DNA and whatever) analysis of the Borden murder evidence, or how untainted that evidence was kept over the past 110+ years.
This is great:
