That's kinda how I feel about it, but my wife says she's concerned about socialization too, so we'll see if we can figure something out.

Are there any non-weird groups of homeschoolers who can pool? Most of Paul's homeschooling wound up taking place outside the home, and with a small group of other kids.

This. Although they always makes me wonder at what point a home school becomes a school school, a lot of homeschooling groups have the serious goods on group activities for just this reason.
