I already had a chat about my officemate's boyfriend's trip to the urologist
Some things should not be discussed with coworkers. Yipes.
'War Stories'
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I can only assume you ran screaming out of the office, possibly having the cowboy hat falling off in your wake.
It may not be true that the cat food is always the same, even though it's the same brand every time. For pet food, I wouldn't be surprised if you're allowed to vary proportions of beef vs turkey vs tofu or whatev' without labelling it anywhere, not to mention stuff like food dyes, if they ran out of Red No. 2 and substituted Red No. 3 that day down at the plant.
This is why I KNOW I am an introvert, despite all my cow-orkers protests-- I need like 5 hours of self time a day! And, like, a whole weekend day. I think if I had an SO around and we were both doing things quietly or talking a bit, that would be OK. Maybe.
Wow, you guys are so my people! Now I feel all validated in my practice of hermitage. Note: An SO who can happily potter around the house and not bother you for awhile is probably worth his weight in gold-pressed latinum.
But the decompression thing is also the main reason I always take the Monday following a Con off of work. Not just to catch up on sleep but to have a break from a full weekend of OMGLotsofpeople!
This this this. Too much and I start to crave a nice quiet empty white room to counteract all the stimulation.
Oh, and cereal back to the Jesus minimum wage discussion -- I'm pretty sure I'm on firm theological ground in my belief that Jesus would have been a union carpenter if they'd had them back when.
gold-pressed latinum
Holy convergence! I was watching Star Trek DS9 (which is new to me) while exercising on the treadmill this morning and much gold-pressed latinum passed hands.
Also, I have alternately been watching Farscape Season 1 for the first time while treadmilling.

Oh, that's an excellent point as well.
ChiKat, next time I'll just email you directly.
And the conversation with the coworker was not nearly as bad as it could have been.
I watched most of Farscape on the treadmill. I'm on Dead Like Me now. I prop my laptop in the book holder thingee and pop in the earplugs. Love it.
Had he had more time, I think Jesus would have instituted unions.
Low key irritable, headachey...I can't believe this is my life.
I don't hermit so much on purpose. I just end up doing it--and sometimes it (in conjunction with previous paragraph) drives me outside to seek any random social contact. It's just that it takes more out of me these days.
But I still need it.
Hec has departed for a meet-up with his co-editor and another writer to discuss starting up a San Franciscocentric version of her L.A. Crime Bus tours, and I don't feel totally confident answering for him, but for the most part Zmayhem time management techniques seem to involve not exercising and resigning ourselves to a certain level of mess and chaos, and only doing as much work as necessary to not let things get worse than they already are. Every few months one or the other of us will go off on a frenzied organizational tear, then gradually it'll all slide back toward mostly-controlled chaotic entropy (or entropic chaos). But the no-regular-exercise and the mess-tolerance are key. Also, the whole Emmett-only-50%-of-the-time thing, so I expect that once we have a 100% Halloweenie it'll all go completely to hell.
Emmett's mom used to have a lesbian sister (she still has the sister, but the sister is now playing with boys); now I finally understand why her place used to be so much tidier than ours. Now, NSM. It's all her sister's fault.
