What do you need to know in order to be a good reader?

I'm assuming that "how to read" goes without saying. Beyond that, some cultural context for the document can be useful. "500 people died of the plague," would mean one thing if it was about London in the 1300s and another if it was about Durham, NC, yesterday.

I have some reviewing issues myself today. I didn't realize until I printed out the order confirmation that I had fucked up my order of a friend's wedding present. Apparently the three opportunities I had to review BEFORE I paid were not sufficient. @@

Does anyone else have problems with Bloglines lately? For weeks now it hasn't displayed my Slate feeds; I just realized that another feed I haven't seen in awhile has, in fact, been regularly updated but not picked up.

Huh. I haven't gotten my Slate feeds either.

I think it's because Slate has made a change on their end. (Not positive - still looking into it.)

Try removing your Slate subscription in Bloglines and adding this:

well, if we are all venting...

Today I discovered that my intern had prepared 2 wrong HTML documents for a project and had made several mistakes in photo selection for same project. So, instead of saving me time now that I am trying to complete the project, he has caused me to spend all day trying to re-construct work from 2-3 weeks ago. Of course, intern in now happily back at colege probably passed out drunk somewhere. DAMN KIDS.
