I think people may be starting to realize that Bill is sort of a nutter.

I think that he's supposed to be Australian. Some marketing firm discovered that, for some reason, that accent made people buy things.
"...and I'll have a coffee."
"Beeah?"
"No, coffee."
"Beeah?"
"C-o-f-f-e-e."
"B-e-e-r?"
"B-e-e-r?"
Don't you watch commercials during Football games? They spell beer 'F-o-s-t-e-r-s' in Australia.
Sean, do you come from the land Down Under?

Oy, I'm having an arguement on another board with a guy who went to a special premiere of the "Full Metal Alchemist" (an anime) movie and is thoroughly pissed off that people were there in costume and the audience was cheering and laughing along with the movie. He's claiming it's just as disruptive as people with screaming kids and talking on their cell phones. He just doesn't accept that crowd reaction is an expected part of the movie theatre experience, especially when you're dealing with hardcore fans. I told him if he wants complete silence, he should watch it at home on DVD.
I thoroughly enjoyed myself at the midnight showing of Episode I, not because of the movie itself, but because of the ridiculous amount of energy both in the line outside the theatre and in the theatre itself.

Same here. And I enjoyed the opening of LotR for the same reason.
I remember way back when, seeing 'Aliens' when it first came out. At a particularly intense part of the movie, I could actually hear a collective 'Oh Shit' from the audience. Good stuff.

That was a fun night. Lots of kooky costumes, and people getting up in front of the theater to make fools of themselves for everyone's enjoyment.
