Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Names can be changed. It is still within our scope.

Last week at the comic store, a guy with the deepest voice in the entire world asked me about what I, as a black woman, liked in comics. Strange question--or strange for me to try and answer.

This week at the comic store, I learn it was him.

Honestly, his voice was so deep he made my head hurt. When the guy at the store described him, he described him as having "the deepest voice in the world." Which is precisely how I'd been describing him.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

Strange question--or strange for me to try and answer.

Yeah... is it different from the comics you like as a krav instructor?

Batman.

I'm pretty sure the answer to that is Batman.

What is even happening?

Sheesh ita, he's kind of easy on the eyes. I like a low voice, and your head has been not kind to you lately, anyhow. He was a research assistant at the National Cancer Institute at the NIH. He started a small comic book company, and has worked as a bouncer. Plus? He had a bit part on Angel. Call your mom. You're getting married. You can teach him what you get out of comics on the honeymoon.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Isn't the answer always Batman?

Watching L&O: Rape Is Bad just reminded me of the guys behind me in line at the craft store. I was kind of wondering what crafts these men were into, since they didn't really sound like the type, but then I saw what they were buying as I was picking up my stuff: Small ziploc bags, in bulk. Oh. Right. Bah.
