"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Back to what we were talking about yesterday: Castro's Sister Attests "He's Very Sick, But He's Not Dead"...

He's the anti-Generalisimo Francisco Franco.

Now tagless for your comfort.

It's totally rude!

Totally agree. I'm trying to think of an appropriately snappy comeback.

My God, she actually looks like him.

Maybe The Daily Show will put the beard on her tonight.

As New York melts into a jaded little puddle, Starbucks is taking pity on everyone and offering free iced coffee at all locations from 1-3 PM today.

Even on less than 3 hours sleep, I'm not that desperate to stand in line for free iced coffee.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Gloomcookie, check with your vet

I did that last time I went out of town. They sent over a supremely incompetent person, damn them.

fake boobs

I had someone ask my GF that about me when we first started dating. At first I was totally offended, until GF said she asked because I was so thin, how could I possibly have such generously sized breasts? BTW, lest someone wonder why they would have such a conversation, this is GF's best friend since high school. No topic is off-limits there.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

GC, I could pet sit. You'd just have to show me how to do the fluids thing.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

In last year's Pew survey, 36% of Americans said that the Bible was the word of God and should be taken literally. 40% said the Bible was the word of God, but not everything in it should be taken literally.

So it's a pretty near thing.

Well, so "now" and "in America" it's close, but even in that context its not some overwhelming majority.

I'm not saying literallism isn't hugely significant, it is.

But I think there is a common and inaccurate notion (particularly among non-christians) that literallism is What Christians Believe or that interpretation is some recent fringe notion that happened in the sixties or whenever people got radical.

Aims you are the sweetest sweety in Sweetyville. I have a call in to a place, but if that falls through, I may just take you up on that!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Statistically plausible considering you live in LA --yes.

I guess I don't wonder enough. I set my boobdar by the fact that there are so many lousy breastjobs on celebrities that breast jobs are pretty bad, and that disdain remains attached to the surgery in general.

That having been said, my sports bra is fabulous.

Polgara, I haven't received anything.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I have to confess to sometimes about wondering about a woman's big breasts if she doesn't have a matching lower body (hippy or fleshy in some way -- my friend with the biggest boobs has no hips or ass but kind of a flabby belly, even though she works out like crazy). But not to ask someone I wasn't intimate with!
