Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

One of my krav friends (Z--I should email him) used to frame his belt test certificates--in a shadow box, with the corresponding belt (we're not given belts, and don't wear them--he bought his own). Sounded really nice and tasteful except, whereinhell would I ever put that up? I also have two certificates from yellow through blue, having taken those tests twice.

Mostly I could never put something up on the wall commemorating an achievement of mine. But I come from a family that threw away my pictures instead of putting them on the fridge (oh, they'll hang my stuff now, even what I hate), and my father once called me to translate his diploma into English because he couldn't remember what he had his Masters in.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Oh I need to grab this week's episode. I carpetbombed last night's for something else, racing likely.

It was below 70 at 9 am today! They are predicting high 50s!!! overnight! I am (temporarily) in heaven!

Also, I noted a woman named Acquanetta McLaughlin in my college alumnae bulletin, which arrived yesterday. For reals.

I have had an oh so productive day. I stayed up until 1:30. Woke up at 7, shot cat, read paper and listened to Only a Game. 8, crawled back into bed to listen to the news. Radio shut off at 9, I fell back asleep. Didn't get up until noon. Been puttering ever since. It's gorgeous out.

SHould go out and do something. I'm dressed and all that.

Word to the wise: never go to rural China with your parents.

I'm not getting on the plane for another 24 hours, and I'm already stressed out. Thank god we're on different flights. (For me, anyway.)

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Maybe cats really do rule the world.

Note, the above is title is deliberately misleading.

I know somebody named Acquanette too!

And I just saw the end of Roker on the Road where they were featuring "Miniature Marvels", including The Dumpling Man in NYC which just looks like an excellent place. Dumplings! All handmade of all different kinds. Delicious. Want.

I mean look at the menu!

Roy and Gretchen Jackson who own Barbaro said that he is doing well enough that he was allowed to graze outside. (On a lead, I think.)

They also (because the featrued race is the Million) did a little "Where are they now?" on John Henry. They showed him at the Kentucky Horse Park where he still lives - he's 31 now and Chris McCarron was visiting him.
