everyone would get a personalized tiara.)

I want to see my Hubby in a tiara. (he has cervical vertebra surgery in November--which was the earliest they could get him in, because his neurosurgeon said ASAP. It's always lovely when a doctor looks at an x-ray and says, "Schedule him now." But maybe it will do the job this time)

Ann, that's a ferret.

The U.S. seems to be slightly less stringent

Ah, ok, so the reaction is different. I just hadn't been able to find anything on the U.S.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

However, they are banning all liquids and gels. This includes: beverages, make up, perfumes, lotions, creams, toothpaste, over the counter medicine and anything with a similiar consistency.

This is pretty much what's in my purse. Water, several lipsticks and balms, a bottle of lotion, Rescue Remedy, my little pill jars with at least six meds of various degrees of prescription and OTC in it, a lighter (I'm a little bit pyro and a little bit rock and roll), nail clippers and that might be all of the contraband.

Does any one know where I can find clip art of the intenational do not sign (circle with hash mark) for some reason I can't find it anywhere and it's driving me nuts. I need to make a flyer asap.

As a last resort, use this.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

ugh. at first I was thinking eh, what's the big deal, because I was just thinking of the bag that I carry. But, I did not consider the OTHER carryon, my little black suitcase that i carry so that I don't have to deal with baggage claim. Which has everything. Ugh. Will my lip balm get confiscated? Do I have to have dry lips on the plane? so. silly. I mean, I understand the need for security, but I think that too often, they fail to do a balancing test with inconvenience to the passengers.

My cynicism is born from having experienced vastly differing standards around the country, leading me to take the really anal restrictions lightly. My general observation is that the smaller and more podunk an airport is, the more hardassed they are

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I know I've posted about this before, but I'm still annoyed about the time I got hand-searched at Logan and they didn't find my good-sized swiss army knife.

ION, I just realized my coworker is still in her 10am meeting with our new crazy boss. She's going to be totally shellshocked when she finally gets out. IF she gets out!

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I was smart enough to put my make-up in the bag to be checked. Luckily, I was already planning to check a bag, what with all of the miscellaneous crap I'm bringing to the con.

Okay, snafu with Continental sorted out. Bags packed. Several books packed; I'm only halfway through Bleak House, so that should last me for a good long while, depending on how much Dickens I can stand in one day. Cell phone charged, iPod charged, DVD player charged.

Unca Sam was a little too eager...

Thrive to spite them

Matt - we were able to get the symbol, thanks for the help.

As far as I know lipstick/balm in a solid form isn't being confiscated but it might be better to check it.

Also, pills and tablets aren't being confiscated either, just anything in a liquid or gel form.
