[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm glad you and Toto are settling nicely into your new place, vw.

Well, I had the interview yesterday. If they're looking for someone to alternately babble and go into long, panicked silences as she mentally scrounges for words, they'll have to pick me. Seriously, I have no idea how I did, but I did get a feel for the place (a small NGO working to cut down on the rate of HIV infection in third world countries, especially Africa). If they make me any kind of decent offer, I'll take it.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Good luck, Calli.

I'm home today. I thought I'd just stubbed my toe. Then I looked at it, and it had turned several colors that would look much better if they were elsewhere. Can't take a shoe today and have plenty of sick leave.

Good luck, Calli!

Good luck, Calli.

Happy Belated Birthday, Erin!!!

move out and draw fire

That sounds like an awesome job, Calli! Lots of ~ma to you.

diamond shoes are too tight

I've used this with a few "other" people recently, and it's been a big hit.

One of the benefits of the DH being in this War College program is that he picks up and uses words and phrases from his military colleagues, which often confuse others (like "call the ball"), so now at least he understands why some buffistaspeak tends to creep into my everyday language.

Another benefit is the pair of USAWC sweats I'm wearing right now - at work. It's so freaking cold in my office I've had to put sweats and a sweater on over my work clothes, and sit on my feet.

Thanks, y'all!

And Raq, I love your tag, (FTR: If you find yourself in a fair fight, you didn't plan sufficiently)

Gronk. I fully expected to wake up to fresh new thread, instead this ole thing is still hanging about. What is up with that. I though we were talkative around here.

TPTB at work want my contract manager to enroll in school (following my example). Apparently she never got HER degree and they want to check the box on a proposal that she is working on her degree. I love it when TPTB share the idiotic fun.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Raq's tag brings to mind a particular krav instructor's motto: "Fuck a fair fight. If you wanted a fair fight, you shouldn't have fucked with me."

Calli, good luck on the call back!

vw, glad you and Toto are settling in well.

I, too, love Raq's tag. Don't love the setting of her a/c at work, though. Warmth~ma.

connie, sinus~ma.

Raq, I've purged most of the Navyisms from my speech, but every now and then I find one creeping back in. I told one of my coworkers the other day to "pull chocks" and even did it with the hand gesture to go with. I've quit calling bathrooms "heads," though.
